Yankees or Cubs? Hmmm tough choice

Yankees or Cubs?  Tough decision to make.  Backstory- Certain games for the Red Sox are done through lottery.  You need to be entered into a lottery in order to be given the change to purchase certain games or seats (tickets go quick).  It is usually green monster seats, budweiser pavilion, Yankees games but this year also Cubs are coming to town.  Well DH informed me today that we got picked for a chance to purchase either Red Sox- Yankees or Red Sox- Cubs tickets.  Typically this would be a no brainer....Yankees of course.  Those are the hardest, most desired tickets in Boston because of the deep hatred for the Yankees and esp. A-Rod (sorry Anabeth)  However, my DH was born in Chicago and his family is from there.  So Cubs tickets would be great.  He wants Cubs but come on!!!!  Red Sox- Yankees!!!!  How can I pass up that chance?  Can you tell I am a bit baseball obsessed?   What would you do?

Re: Yankees or Cubs? Hmmm tough choice

  • i'm a cubs fan, and i hate the yankee's so i'm not a good source...
  • I hate the Yankees too...more than words can say.  I was born hating them.  Both would be great series so I am debating.  The Cubs don't come to Fenway usually so it is something different but again  HELLO!!!  Yankees in town= fun

  • Pssssh hands down Sox/Yankees. C'MOOOOOOOOOOON.

But I do understand why YH would want to catch the Cubs game. I suppose it would be a change of pace.

  • Cubs of course you silly girl!  But I'm a Cubs fan!

Similarly, this year Cubs offered pre-sale of 6 pack tickets, each with one "big" game.  I've never been to a Crosstown Classic game, White Sox vs. Cubs, so I wanted a pack with that, but other packs included Cubs-Yankees (which hasn't been played at Wrigley) and DH wanted that.

In the end, we agreed that Crosstown Classic, is well, Classic and couldn't pass up the deal! I'm pumped to have a definite 6 games already lined up AND to know that we're paying face-value!

  • I think we decided on Sox-Cubs.  Brian really wanted that game and I have seen Red Sox-Yankees series quite a few times.  He wins this time
