GR (Glee Related) question for Gleeks and non-Gleeks

Well, I guess it's basically a music question inspired by Glee.

Regional's Theme in Glee this year is "Anthem". What song would you consider your personal anthem?

  • I know it's super cheesy and predictable, but my anthem would probably be "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles. It makes me happy, and serves as a reminder of what's really important. It's such a great, happy song.

Second would be Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds". Kind of embarrassing, but I actually do sing it to myself when I start to get stressed out or overwhelmed. It's very soothing. I've sung it to every one of my godkids when they were infants and it always put them right to sleep.

  • The Story by Brandi Carlile. I really love the sound of the song (for some reason, listening to her singing it reminds me of Johnny Cash) and the lyrics speak to me. Plus, I just love singing along to it!

  • right now? my personal anthem is "out of my hands" because a whole lot of my world right now isn't in my control.... and i have to let it go and just be ok with that.

OMG, I do the same thing (sing it to myself when stressed) I thought I was the only one! It is really soothing!

I don't know what my anthem would be. Destiny's Child's "Independent Women" always makes me feel pretty empowered.

  • Mine change depending on what situation I'm in, but I've always loved "Free Bird" by Lynrd Skynrd, and "Lights" by Journey.
  • Journey's Don't Stop Believing
