Because my nerves are shot. I can't even explain what it's like ladies. Last night I just got up and went to bed, didn't even bother saying goodnight to anyone. Rude? Yes, but I was at the point where I didn't care and thought I might either yell or cry, neither of which I wanted to do in front of her. She says to me last night, well so and so will want to see the baby (her IL's), which day would work better for them to come over, Saturday or Sunday? Umm, how about never? I'm so done with entertaining people. I have a freaking newborn and he is getting fussy from all the activity, but she's too clueless to even see that. I told H that no one else is allowed over here, if she wants to see them, fine go see them.
And now H and I are on edge with each other, which totally sucks.
Re: Is it Monday yet?!?
::hugs::
The whole point of having people over after the baby is born is to help you out and keep you sane, not drive you to the point that you want to kill someone.
Hope the weekend goes by quickly.

This is the part that I'm not looking forward to. I love having my own space, especially when things are crazy already! Just keep telling yourself "this too shall pass!" Hope the next few days go super fast and they get the heck out of there!!
Oh Heather, I'm so sorry. It was like this in the hospital for us (living out in the middle of nowhere has it's perks). We had just gotten her out of the NICU and all of DH's came down at the same time without asking, when we were supposed to limit visitors. Then they all complained that they weren't allowed to hold her. It's such a frustrating, helpless, overwhelming feeling.
Next time Parker starts fussing, just tell them he needs some Mommy time and escape into another room without listening to their responses. I'm sure they will protest you "stealing the baby" but they can suck it.
((((hugs))))
I agree w/ Melissa here. If Parker gets fussy, excuse yourself and leave the room.

MIL and I got into it [and SIL, too] when JJ was first born because I wouldn't let them take him [I think I b!tched about this on the board, baha]. You gotta hold your ground Mama - that's YOUR son, and like Melissa said, if she doesn't like that you're spending time with YOUR son...she can suck it.
Come vent to us any time you need to! **hugs**

Oh Ebonie, I forgot about that! Amazing that people forget what it's like to have a newborn and how cautious you want to be.
It does feel good to get it off my chest, thanks for letting me vent ladies!

Hang in there. I decided when things get really bad, I'm just going to cry in front of everyone. My IL's have never seen me cry, so this is what I will resort to doing so everyone gets out of my hair.
You sound like me. I will probably do this, also.
