We leave for our trip tomorrow, woohooo! Cassidy has only been on a plane once, when she was one and she slept in our laps
the entire time. This time because she's two, she has her own seat. We plan on
using her car seat because it's familiar and comfortable. We bought a
portable DVD player, headphones, some of her favorite DVDS, and a brand
new one that hopefully she'll be very excited about. Other than the
obvious drinks and snacks, do you have any good suggestion or advice for
our trip tomorrow. The flight will only be about 2 hours and 15
minutes, so I'm not super worried...
Re: any toddler flying tips?
so fun, i'm so jealous!! aliza's super duper into books, so if it were us, we'd probably just pack her bag full of as many as would fit and spend the time reading them to her and having her read them to us. stickers are also good, and maybe markers and paper? i'm sure the dvd player will be great, we should invest in one of those... between that and the food, i'm sure you'll be good to go. have a great time
oh, there are probably mixed opinions on this, but whenever we've flown with her, we try to board last, rather than pre-board... even though it's nice to get settled, we've found it nicer to have the extra time for her to run around in the airport, not just sitting still on the plane and waiting for everyone else to get in place.
You should be fine. Ben is a pro at it now - we don't even bring the dvd player for the plane (we have one for the car for road trips) - books, some coloring supplies, snacks and 2 sippies (one for water, one for milk) and he's good to go!
See I like to board first - then I know all my carry on bags will be near us and not have to deal with no overhead bin room. Plus it takes me a bit to get the car seat installed and the one time I did that last the flight attendants were up my a$$ to get settled already. Plus Ben likes to sit in his seat and say hi to everyone as they board :-)
