Crazy!

So DH went to a dunkin donuts this morning (Not one of the ones Angela's family owns) and got a sausage and cheese bagel. He was eating the sandwich and almost cracked his tooth on something hard - took it out of his mouth - it was a shard of metal! I feel like one of those crazies on the news! He called the DD to let them know so hopefully no one else has issues in case it's a batch issue or something and the manager wants to talk to him in person and see the metal piece. I think he's going to go down there today. I'm working from home today so I only saw the picture he texted me of the piece. He's thinking he needs to make a dental appointment because his tooth really hurts now. Ironically, I was just there yesterday and LOVE the service and was going to call and rave how wonderful they are. I'm not sure what will happen - not like we're crazies who plan to try and sue them or anything (although I have to admit getting some free coffee and bagels would be ok) So crazy!!!

Re: Crazy!

  • Definitely go on the DD website and report the issue too.  The 2 times I've had REALLY bad service I've gone on there, reported it, and received tons of coupons for free stuff in the mail!

Hope his tooth is okay.  That's pretty bad!

  • My dad got an iced coffee at DD years ago (can't remember which one), and he was crunching on the ice in the cup... well one piece was very hard, and it turned out to be a piece of glass.  Imagine that?!  He went back to the DD and they said that a coffee pot had broken earlier that day.  Apparently a piece landed in the ice chest.  Nice.  He luckily was not hurt - I think he got a coupon for a free iced coffee, but nothing all that exciting!  That is crazy about the piece of metal in your DH's sandwich!
  • same as pam -- any time i've reported something online to them that i've been dissatisfied with, i end up getting coupons for free stuff in the mail!
  • Oh my! So not cool.

And about the glass in the ice...when something breaks they are supposed to melt ALL the ice and clean the bin just in case. At least that's what I always did bartending/serving.

This exactly, even if you are sure that no glass fell, you are still supposed too. Thank God he didn't swallow that!!

  • omg something like that happened to me before when Bess Eaton was still around. I ordered a muffin and broke it in half to eat and there was a HUGE metal bolt inside!!! I just returned it.  Didnt get anything free...except maybe a new muffin! haha (but i can't really remember, I was a lil' ol' teenager back then!)
