Re: Friday Five

  • Oh, you are on top of things this Friday, Mandah!

    1.  When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate? I'm a total procrastinator. Sometimes I wouldn't do the work until the next morning.

    2.  What is one person/thing/event that inspired you to take action of some sort?
Nothing? I can't really recall anything right now.

    3.  What do you usually do during your "down time"?
Read or sew. The are both pretty relaxing.

    4.  What does your personal neon sign say to the world?
I don't know what it says, but I wish I could tell everyone "I'm not standoffish, I'm just shy!". I don't do well in large groups of people I don't know and I think people just think I'm a ***.

    5.  Plans for the (long) weekend?
Long weekend? I work in government and we sure don't have Monday off. I'll be hanging out with DH Saturday and Sunday, maybe trying some new baking and trying to run.

  • 1.  When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate? i was a dorky kid, who got right down to business and got it done.  but that way i had all afternoon left to play!!!!  when my sister was still finishing homework at 8pm, i was playing barbies!

    2.  What is one person/thing/event that inspired you to take action of some sort? this is sorta cheesy, but i guess my parents inspired me to be my best.  they always sacrificed so much to give us a good education, and they were so proud of our accomplishments, that i couldn't let them down.  i've always been a hard worker because of that.

    3.  What do you usually do during your "down time"? play on the computer, read, browse recipes, watch stupid tv shows, go for long walks when the weather is nice....

    4.  What does your personal neon sign say to the world? ENJOY!   i just try to enjoy everything in life!

    5.  Plans for the (long) weekend? not too much actually....me and DH have to get our tax stuff together (fun fun) and we might go buy new phones (still deciding btw iphone and droid)

  • 1.  When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate? 4.  What does your personal neon sign say to the world? Currently it says "do not mess with the hormonal woman" lol

    5.  Plans for the (long) weekend? Ugh I don't think we have a long weekend Sad bummer.. but H's nephew's 2nd bday is this weekend that we totally forgot about so we have to buy a present tonight and go to his bday party on sunday. I am hoping to start on my competition cake some and get some sleep that I havent been getting much of at night

  • 1.  When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate?
Well, when I was younger I would do it right away. But in high school, I had a study hall 2nd period, so everything got done in there...like...I only took books home if it was a super big test that I had to study for. Papers always seemed to get done after 9 pm while I was gossiping away on MSN Chat! Hahah! Oh, the good 'ol days!

    2.  What is one person/thing/event that inspired you to take action of some sort?
Well, I was very inspired to get through college in four years because of my scholorships. They would not last past the first 8 semesters, so I really pushed myself to the extremes to get that accomplished. I am currently inspired by my ever growing behind to hit the gym hard these next few months! Hahahahah!

    3.  What do you usually do during your "down time"?
Depends on my mood. Watch DVD series (like Will & Grace, Sex & The City), or clean (rarely), cook, nap (heart my Sunday afternoon naps cause my puppy always cuddles up with me for those).

    4.  What does your personal neon sign say to the world?
Don't Feed the Animals...ahahahahah...seriously, though, others make it really hard to stay on track with my diet.

    5.  Plans for the (long) weekend?
No "long" one for me. But, we really have NOTHING planned, and it is fabulous!!! I'm going to try to hit the gym Saturday and Sunday, maybe a friend's birthday party Saturday night, and hopefully try to roll Jeff out of bed Sunday to make church!

  • 1. I was a total procrastinator. I was all the way through college. Still worked out though!

    2.  I started a scholarship fund after September 11th at my school. I was the president of FBLA so it was through that. We held a dance and a few other fundraisers, and made it in honor of a graduate a few years ago who passed away on September 11th. It went to people who were effected that day. I am only 40 minutes out of the city so our community was hit rather hard between workers in the towers and firefighters and police officers.

    3. During my downtime I catch up on Tivo, or work on some of my scrapbooking or sewing.

    4. I think I have one of those scrolling Neons that says something different every day (not in a crazy sense...but in a "this is how  i feel today"). Today it would indicate that I am in a great mood.

    5. Tomorrow I am going fabric shopping so I can start my first quilt on Monday for the Craft board Quilt a Long. Sunday is DAYTONA 500 day! Hooorayy! Go #88! We are going to have a party at the house. Monday is going to be relaxing and lounging all day because DH is working and I will be glad to not be at work.
