Favorite Chick Flick?

I'm watching Shag and thinking of my best friend (who helped me turn this moving into a drinking game.) What's your favorite chick flick?

Re: Favorite Chick Flick?

  • My Best Friend's Wedding, love it!

  • Does Pride and Prejudice count as a chick flick? I could watch the BBC version over and over.
  • I have way too many favorites. But I think my all time is Steel Magnolias. Love it!

ETA: Thinking about my other favorites (The Notebook, Fried Green Tomatoes, Gone with the Wind). They all take place in the South. Wierd....just a thought I would through out there.

Me too. I LOVE this one!

  • I am also a huge sucker for chick flicks. I have so many that I love: My Best Friend's Wedding, Sweet Home Alabama, P.S. I Love you, Hope Floats, and on and on and on and on.

Yes.  Yes it does.  Colin Firth... Be still my beating heart.  ;)

P&P has a solid spot in my top 3, which includes Steel Magnolias and The American President.

Honorable mention: French Kiss, You've Got Mail, Romeo + Juliet, Love Actually, Sabrina, The Notebook (I ugly cry at the end of this EVERY.TIME.), Hope Floats, My Best Friend's Wedding, The Sweetest Thing, etcetc...

Also, I would like to add that there are certain movies that I really only watch for the steamy sex scenes and then refuse to watch past a certain point... i.e. Atonement.  Most depressing movie ever, but good gracious, James McAvoy take me now...

LOVE The Sweetest Thing. And yeah, Atonement. I need to do it in a library sometime. WOW.

Another one I love that I don't think was very successful is Forget Paris with Billy Crystal. It's really a good movie.

Holy crap yes, Atonement. HAWT. Also what's that one movie with Diane Lane where's she's cheating on her husband... that one has some hot scenes in it too.

The Notebook is definitely my all-time favorite chick flick. I'll always love Titanic too.

Unfaithful. Yeah I always feel pretty dirty after watching that one.

You should read the book (Atonement) the sex scenes seem much more hotter.  Devil

I picked the book up at a thrift store but haven't read it yet since the movie was so damn depressing.  Maybe I will read it soon.....

I am not a big chick flick person, but I have to admit to really enjoying How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.  I don't necessarily like the storyline, but I love Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey.  They have great chemistry.
