How often do you wear makeup?
Hi, my name is Brooke and I'm a total makeup junkie. There! I said it. I've been wearing makeup since I can remember. I was always playing in my mom's makeup as a kid and now it's something I really enjoy wearing and buying and experimenting with. How about you? How often do you wear makeup?

Re: How often do you wear makeup?
Hi, I'm Emily, and what's makeup?
In my work environment (an aquatic lab) there is rarely a time when it's important to look decent. I'm usually in jeans and *hopefully* a clean t-shirt.
If we're going out to dinner with friends or family, or if my face is breaking out, I'll usually put on some make up. My big issue is that since I'm not in the habit of always wearing it, I often find myself half way to our destination and I realize I didn't put any make up on, and I get kind of pissed, lol.
However, I am a Sephora whore. while I don't wear makeup often, I do own one expensive makeup bag

I guess the reason i never wear make up is because i was never taught how to put it on properly....I always love the way it looks when i have it done...but can never do it right myself!
Anyone wanna give lessons??
hehe Em!
I'm a full face everyday kind of girl. It's not like I sleep in it, but I don't typically leave the house without it. I feel naked.
Court - The way I learned was reading a lot of beauty mags when I was young and a LOT of trial and error. It's important to get the right colors for your complexion/hair/eyes. Now that we have this wonderful thing called YouTube, I get all my tips and tricks from there.

I sell Avon so, needless to say, I have to use the products, right?? lol.
My resolution this year was to be sure I looked good every time I left the house, so far so good. For me that means, no throwing on a baseball cap and sweats and put makeup on so I don't look like the pimply monster lol.
I voted full-face everyday, which isn't exactly true, but the closest option.
I wear it M-F when working and then full faced (including eyes, which I normally wear shadow, just mascara and liner for work) only if we're going out on weekends.
Sundays are usually my relax days where I don't shower, do my hair or put on makeup, unless we have plans.
I also swear that I'm guranteed to always have one pimple (edited) on my face. I've been told not to wear makeup to let my skin refresh and repair, but don't follow that.
My weekday routine: Moisturizing gel, primer, concealer where needed, foundation, mascara, light powdering, bronzer on cheek area and liner.

I almost always wear something. I'm a super fair skinned redhead (like you Brooke!) and even when I'm not tired, I have circles under my eyes. So I almost always wear concealer so I don't look exhausted. And I got my dad's blond eyelashes, so mascara is a must unless I want to look like a pink baby hamster.
I do love makeup though. I have two big hat boxes full of makeup. I don't even know how much I've spent over the years at MAC, Sephora, and Ulta. My most recent purchase was a Clinique "Chubby Stick." I'm obsessed.

I did a lesson at Sephora, they're pretty awesome and they weren't too pushy to buy all the products. They're great at helping show which colors look best on your complexion, which brands are best for what you are looking for, and best of all how to properly apply.
To "buy" a lesson, you just have to get a $50 giftcard - I used part of mine to get the amazing lip color/stain the woman introduced me to (and I used to NEVER wear lip color). I also called ahead and made an appointment, but if it's a weekday you might be able to just walk in.
I'm sure a lot of other places do something like this, like at department stores, but I loved my experience at Sephora.
Although I don't always do a full face, I usually do and I am OBSESSED with makeup. MAC being my favorite line! I actually just bought some sephora waterproof liner that I love. But anyways. I am pretty similar to Hannah. I don't do anything on Sundays if I don't have to.
I got most of my tricks going to the makeup counter. I love getting my makeup done and most of them do it for free. Mac has great artists that will teach you and Sephora is great too.

Hee! Hannah! This made me laugh! I totally figured out what you meant to put, but this sounds totally dirty. LMAO

I have a a whole drawer in the bathroom Full of make-up from All over the place! I swear I have like 10 different eye liner's, and a crap load of eye shadows and a few different brands of mascara. I tend to stick with Mary-Kay for foundation
SAD part I only put it on if I'm not wearing my glasses, and going some place nice, every great once in a while I'll wear make-up to work. I just don't see a need to wear it to my job everyday (I work at a nasty dry-cleaners!)
Growing up my mom never wore make-up, she had a TINY little make-up bag that had a little pink lipstick and some blush and maybe a small thing of eye shadow in light color. Never saw her ware any of it tho... so I had to learn by self how to do my own make-up. I must say I think I turned out okay with no help! ( I even did my own make-up for the wedding! )
side note: I didn't start wearing make-up till about my jr. year in high schoolI picked whenever I leave the house. I would frighten people without undereye concealer. Some mornings I look in the mirror and say to Ken, "how can you love this?"

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermI put "Only if I'm leaving the house," but since I leave the house almost every day (for work M-F, church Sunday, and sometimes out and about on Saturday), it's rare that I'm not wearing at least SOME makeup. It's usually when I'm sick or just home hanging out/cleaning/etc. that I don't bother, but even what I wear regularly is pretty minimal.
Usual routine in the morning:
Wash my face, use toner, apply Aquaphor (sp?) ointment to lips and nose (I have a very dry nose), moisturize face with an SPF moisturizer (I have fair, dry skin and I live in sunny FL)
Apply light foundation and let set for at least a few minutes
Lightly dust on powder
Blush and mascara (sometimes only top lashes)
Eye shadow if I have time (but always for special outings)
I rarely use lip stuff other than chapstick during the day unless I remember to use lip gloss or if I'm going somewhere special. I occasionally use concealer under my eyes, but that is usually only for special occasions and when I actually remember to use it.
I usually am pretty consistent to also wash, tone, and moisturize my face at night before I go to bed.

Hee! I know, but saying you have "one people" on your face is way funnier. And it made me giggle, because I'm 12.

You just described me with this statement. I am a complete makeup snob. I don't have much, but what I do have is top-quality stuff!
I try to put at least a little lip gloss, cream blush and mascara on every day, since I never know when I'll be running to the post office or meeting a customer for a delivery, and I don't always have time to put makeup on before I leave, but I save the full face stuff for church and going out to planned events. On Saturdays, unless we're going somewhere, I try to give my face a break and don't wear any makeup at all.
Even when I do wear it, I keep it pretty neutral. Right now, I'm addicted to the Naked Eye Soft&Sexy palette by Too Faced, because it helps me feel put together without looking too made up.
Hi Brooke....it's Brooke
I wear mascara & eye shadow every day for work, and I throw on eye liner if it's a special event (at work or otherwise).
If I'm just going to Target or a casual dinner, I don't wear make up.
And I never wear foundation. I don't like how it feels, and my skin tone is fairly even.
I wear a ful face Monday-Friday for work. Saturday and Sunday it depends. If we are going out/doing something (other than going to the grocery store) I'll put make up on, but if we are just hanging around the apartment, I don't bother.
My older brother is a professional makeup artist in NYC and has worked for Mac and Chanel most recently, so my makeup kit is amazing. He's also really taught me a lot on how to achieve different looks. He gets so disgusted with me when he comes home and finds Cover Girl products in my kit getting used more than Chanel lol.
