Anyone taken the GRE

I'm considering grad school.

TIA

Re: Anyone taken the GRE

  • I personally haven't but my best friend did. :)
  • Sorry I guess I should've asked but was it really hard?  Was it something I need to study for a a few months for?
  • I took it several years ago. It wasn't that bad, mostly math (algebra/geometry) and vocab stuff from what I can remember. I just had to take the GRE for my program and didn't have to get a specif score so I didn't study

That's what mine says I have to take it but I don't have to score.  A friend was saying that maybe because I graduated from the same institution that they might waive the GRE test...(cause I'm an alumni) but maybe not.  Honestly the last two hours has been spent trying to figure it out.  The sent me to a website that has little to no info on it.  Now I'm waiting for two emails and a phone call back.  So glad that the communication department effectively communicates!

  • I did my undergrad and masters both at BGSU through the College of Technology and still had to take it. The worst part about taking the GRE is the outdated computers they use at the testing centers
  • I took it, but almost 10 years ago.  I think I bought one test prep book and made sure I wasn't a complete idiot.  If you don't do a lot of math in your current line of work I would brush up on that, but if you are considering grad school you are probably intelligent enough to get through it.
