Re: TGIF!!

  • Not really fun, but it's a busy weekend.

Today - going over to Caroline's Great Grandmothers. Lots of the female family gathering for lunch.

Tomorrow- stuff around the house, go to the Apple store since my power cord is crapping out. Tomorrow night we're going out to dinner for MIL's birthday since FIL got sick last weekend.

Sunday- having our old neighbor come over to visit with Caroline since she hasn't seen her since her Christening and hasn't seen the new house.

  • I am at the eye doctors now, am going to hit the gym, sew some curtains and then an interview at 3. Tomorrow : swim lessons, down to Massachusetts to visit some girlfriends and then to my SL. Sunday: nothing,! MH is going to camp for the weekend :-)

  • Today - at work for a bit but may not put in a full day because I've been working crazy hours for a couple of week.  Had a good talk with my boss this morning about how the opportunities for my next job aren't ideal but he's going to make sure we find the next best alternative.  We've had some craziness with draft review in the last few weeks and he's been super supportive so I know he'll come through on this.  I feel much better about things. :-)

Tonight - go to bed early. I am tired.

Tomorrow - breakfast with friends at a favorite neighborhood restaurant. Otherwise, putter around the house, start a new book, watch movies.

Sunday - lunch with my aunt and uncle and use a Bed Bath & Beyond gift card. More puttering, putting away winter decorations, and maybe some sewing or cooking.

Monday - not sure.  Maybe head to the museums to see some exhibits.  Definitely need to do some cooking and baking for the week.

  • VACATTTTTTTTION!!!! We're heading up to greenville on Sunday for the week -- can't wait!!!

Good luck with the interview, Jess!!

  • Yeah for the weekend- boo I don't get a three day one...

Today: Kyle and I are headed North around 4, and should be touching down in Boothbay around 8. His buddy's wife is gone for the weekend, so they're planning on doing a bunch of "guy stuff". I think I'll drop him off so the can grab a couple beers, then swing by a girlfriend's house for a few before heading back to pick him up.

Saturday: We might go take a look at a car, then my mom and I are headed to Springers to see about getting my engagement ring fixed and grabbing lunch. Not sure what the rest of the day hold, but I think the boys will be playing with heavy machinery and hammering stuff. Probably out with friends in the evening.

Sunday: Lunch/Brunch with some of my favorite people, swinging by my Da's for a bit to hang then headed back to Newport since my boss is a jerkface and is not required to give us Monday off- LAMESAUCE!

PS- how did this post already get almost 800 views??? Crazy!

  • Today- family day!!!  Homemade coffee cake for breakfast.  I've got a big Lebanese meal in the works for lunch. Kibbeh, potatoes, tabouleh, olives, homemade bread. Then we're going to deliver a meal to an older couple we know...he isn't doing so hot. Then DH goes to work and we go and eat homemade pizza for dinner at our neighbors.

Tomorrow-church.  And then a birthday party for an older member who never has ever had a party in her whole life.  Then tomorrow night, I want to make a 2nd pair of baby shoes to send my cousin who has a baby the same age as Adrian (I made them out of an old leather coat).

Sunday- Zero plans.  Likely some elaborate meal, since that's all we think about is eating.  Plus getting some extra wood in the basement.  And maybe an errand or two.  And probably dressing Adrian up in a cute outfit and taking 1000 pictures.

  • TGIF is right!  My annual review is at 2pm and I'm kind of nervous, it's been a tough year for me at work, but I'll be glad when it's over.

Tonight: I'm cooking dinner for Mr. Bearer of V-Day Flowers!  I don't cook a lot so this is kind of an experiment and hopefully it will turn out well.  Even if the food isn't five-star, I'm sure we'll have fun.  I think you could lock us in a padded cell together for a week and we'd still have a grand old time.

Tomorrow, possibly church and seeing my family.  Mr. Man has his son Saturday through Tues. so I don't really see him on weekends at this point.  Sunday, I need to do a long training run go grocery shopping.

We were unexpectedly given Monday off so I will probably do laundry and relax!

My mouth is watering. My ex that I dated for 3 years was Lebanese and the two things I miss are his amazing family and their amazing Lebanese food. Add some stuffed grape leaves to that menu and I am in heaven. I wished I had taken the time to learn how to cook any of that before we broke up.

  • jl&jl- That sounds yummy! I am Lebanese and love all of those things. Speaking of, is it sad that I was so excited when I heard Lady Gaga's new song mentioned being Lebanese!

    TGIF and Feb Vacation!!!

Tonight- No plans except for relaxing and packing for our mini-vacation!

Tomorrow- Up early to take the Downeaster to Boston for two nights. We are heading the Children's Museum when we get into town and having lunch at a bakery/cafe nearby. Then checking into the hotel and going out to dinner later.

Sunday- Aquaruium for the day! So excited to take Eli. Other plans include lunch, swimming at the hotel and dinner. Maybe going back to the Children's Museum at some point, since we have a membership to get in free.

Monday- Maybe more swimming and just hanging out at the hotel until check out, then taking the train back home.

Rest of the week my best friend and her boyfriend are coming to stay with us, so we will be going on little adventures with Eli and other fun stuff. Can't wait!

  • Happy it's Friday; this week has been a little slow and/or boring.  Out to dinner with Marcus, mom, and my grandmother tonight.  Other than that, no big plans for the weekend besides catching up on some house work, reading, and getting outside if it's as nice as it is today!

Yup!! Saw it on the Food Network and wanted to check it out. Location couldn't be better since we were planning on the museum anyway.

  • Friday: Picked up Ridley and stopped in for a drink with coworkers.  Then went home and made dinner, gave little miss a bath, and did a strength training routine before watching Thursday's AI and 30 Rock on Tivo.

Saturday: Grocery shopping this morning and then an early dinner with some friends from my master's program that I haven't see in a while.  Then more TV from Tivo after I put the kid to bed.

Sunday: Lunch with some friends and a lot of nothing!

  • Yesterday was normal work, then home where I decided greasy take out sounded better than cooking- it tasted better too- then we watched Hot Tub Time Machine (stupid & funny) and went to bed early at 10.  James slept through until 6 and then went down again until 7:30, so it was heavenly.

Today we've been puttering around this morning (I bought our Hawaii tickets though!) and now that James is down for a nap, I'm thinking about a grocery list and baking.  I should practice dancing and do some chores too.

Tomorrow I'd like to get out of the house with James (& DH if he wants to come) and do something cheap/ free.  We don't do that much when we're home without plans, and I think we all get pretty bored.  I like relaxing, but I don't like feeling like I've squandered my weekends. The day will be topped off with loaded nachos for dinner.
