Those of you who have had ovarian cysts....
I have some questions if you can help! Totally oversharing but am curious.
So the cyst that they found on the ultrasound was on my right ovary, 6mm. Caused a bunch of pain, etc. The past 2 days it hasn't really bothered me (finally), and I'm on my 2nd cycle since it formed so I'm hoping it's gone!
So today I notice a weird feeling on my left side... sure enough, tonight it hurts. Are you kidding me??? Have any of you who have dealt with this had this happen like this? I mean one just disappeared and already another one may be there on the other side??? I'm calling a gynecologist on Monday to set up an appointment but this sucks.
Any advice is appreciated!!!

Re: Those of you who have had ovarian cysts....
I don't have personal experience, but you switch sides every month when ovulating. It's possible that the cyst that was bothering you before may be on the side that is not ovulating now, but was last cycle. As for cysts, it's not unheard of to have more than one.
Hope you're able to get some answers.
((( hugs )))
yeah, I can actually tell which side I ovulate from each month after having charted with our pregnancies.... and the idea of having another one right now is so not fair. I was finally thinking "yay, no pain."
GRRRRR. This is so going to suck if I have to go back on the pill, which I can't even do for another 3 months yet anyway.

I had recurring cysts as a teenager. At one time, I had two at 5 cm on one side and one at 13 cm on the other. So it can just keep happening if you have the hormonal issues that can cause cysts. They develop as follicles but for some reason the egg doesn't release and causes issues.
Honestly, 6 mm is really small to cause the kind of pain you're having. I have PCOS so have several follicles <10 mm on both ovaries at all times unless I'm on the Pill. It's not painful and I don't even know they're there. Follicles get to be above 20 mm before you ovulate.
I'm just concerned something else is going on, not to scare you. I would definitely make an appointment to discuss with your doctor. I hope you start feeling better soon.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

Thanks Jill. I, fortunately, haven't had any pain on either side today, so maybe I'm finally doing a little better. Still calling the GYN Tuesday for an appointment to talk about it all. The u/s I had just showed the cyst (now, granted the nurse read me the report so maybe it was 6cm? Not 6mm like she said? not sure). Going to have the report sent to the new GYN and we'll go from there.
