Andrew and I are going to let the ILs keep Xander for the night. We talked to MIL and she said she was nervous but wanted to have him for the night. We both have a feeling that we may get a phone call in the middle of the night to come get him. Thankfully my BIL will be there to help out. So are we crazy for letting this happen?

    I don't think your crazy. If you live pretty close and they have a phone to call you if there is an emergency than you should be fine.

    Enjoy your night alone with your DH.. That is probably what you MIL wants for you to to make another grandbaby Wink

    Honestly, your MIL has raised children, and knows the drill. She might be nervous, but she'll be fine.  And so will Andrew.  And Xander.  ENJOY your evening!!

    I don't blame you for being worried. I was worried leaving my MIL with c today while we were at a memorial (on our way back). She had to put him down for a nap and he's finicky. As long as they can call you it will be okay and he's gotten so much better with his sleeping I'm sure he'll be fine.

    We're planning a long weekend away when she's 13 months Embarrassed  Granted it's with my parents, I might feel differently if it was my ILs, but she always has a great time with them.  I'm a little nervous, but also can't wait!!  So I don't think it's crazy at all :)

    My niece spent the night with my parents all the time, and still does. She loves it. You aren't crazy for being worried, it is natural the first time you spend the night away from your child, just like I'm sure you were worried the first time you dropped him off at daycare. It is natural, just breath and enjoy the time alone.

    This was the second time they had him over night, and my worries just stem from my FIL and his health issues now. We went out to dinner last night and then went back to ILs house to put Xander to bed. We are going to go get him in a little big and I can't wait to see my little man!
