Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

I remember hearing awhile ago that couples who don't have a TV in their bedroom have sex much more than the couples that do.

So, I'm wondering, do you guys have a TV in your bedroom?

Do you think it affects your sex life at all (positively or negatively?)

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

  • We do have a TV in our bedroom and I don't think it affects our sex life at all.

  • We did. We took it out because we rarely watched it (I would to fall asleep some times) and it was taking up space.

We had just as much sex then as we do now. I don't think having a TV in the room affects a couples sex life, a couple affects a couples sex life.

  • We do, but it's not hooked up to cable, so we only use it when we are watching a movie. I don't feel that it effects our sex life, because we never have it on as background noise, we only have it on when we are planning on watching a movie.

  • We have one at his house, and not at mine. I think our sex life is the same, regardless of whose house we're at.
  • We don't.  DH had one in there before I moved in when we got married.  It broke about a month after the wedding, and we never replaced it.  It was just a 13' one, so we didn't use it that often anyway.  Now, we use one of our laptops if we want to watch a movie in bed, but other than that we don't really miss it.

  • We have a tv in our bedroom, since its too cold in the winter to watch it anywhere else normally. No change on our sex life at all though.

  • We have one, I like to fall asleep to it.  I don't think it affects us as a couple at all though.

  • We have one. I use it to fall asleep. It has no effect on our sex life.

  • We have one and my H would have it NO other way. He has been addicted to tv since he was a child. Growing up as an only child, the tv was his babysitter many days. It doesn't bother me cause I like laying in bed just bumming it and watching tv. It does not effect our sex life at all.

  • We don't have one in the bedroom.  Mostly because I have a hard enough time sleeping now that I don't want my brain to think its TV time when I'm under the covers.
  • We have one in the bedroom and it doesn't effect our sex life at all. We barely turn it on though. I really think it's there for show at the point lol.

  • We have a TV, but to be honest, the only time it is turned on is when I'm getting ready in the mornings.

  • I will never put a TV in our bedroom.  No disrespect to anyone who does, but every book I have read said it's a no no and I don't need any other reason for my husband to bug me when I'm in their reading.  The bed room is my TV escape.

  • I never thought I'd have a tv in the bedroom, for fear of ruining our sex life.  It turns out that staying up to watch tv in the living room because you can't sleep, then falling asleep on the couch at 4 a.m. long after your H has gone to bed is what kills a sex life.  We have a tv in the bedroom now. :-)

  • We don't have a TV in our bedroom and decided together that we never will. If we want to watch a movie in bed we use my laptop.
  • We do. When we start our business, I turn it off. It's more romantic that way. I hate it when those annoying, loud, obnoxious commercials come on and I definitely don't want it to ruin the mood.

  • We've got one, but it's rarely on anymore... Only in the mornings or when we're tidying up the bedroom...

It's our crazy busy schedules that mess up the sex life....

  • Yes we do, but I really don't like it in there.... would much rather have it out, but I guess it's all a part of marriage and compromise! ;)

  • We don't have a TV in the bedroom and we both really like it that way.
  • We do.

I don't think it has any effect on our sex life.

However, I do think that it had an effect on dh's sleeping habits.  He would wake up and start watching tv - the tv was around 2 feet from his head (so DH was in between me and the tv when we were both in bed).

We moved our bed so that the tv is further away, and dh has been sleeping much better.

  • We do have a TV in our bedroom, but seeing as we don't have cable and I can count on one hand how often we've ever turned the thing on (to play a video game or movie), I highly doubt it affects us or our sex life lol.

  • We do not and I think it's great for our sex life. For us, bed is for sleep and sex only.  I will read in bed if I can't sleep but it's not very often.
  • We do have a TV in our room and I hate it! I have always hated it, but we live in a studio so there's no avoiding it right now. I dont think its necessary- to me the bedroom is for bedroom time!
