Moms that nurse laying down
I've started nursing laying down for all night feedings. My nipples are BURNING.
Any other moms experience this? Relief?
Re: Moms that nurse laying down
Hmm, have you checked out Kellymom.com? They might have some suggestions...is it when you are nursing or afterwards? I use the boob cream too, but I think a lot of our issue was Delia's latch at first..

I was thinking something along those lines. I have not had this issue, but my lactation consultant said sometimes you can have problems when the babies get lazy w/ their nursing and start to slide down your nipple - it can cause cracking and stuff. I could see that happening when a baby is sleep-nursing. I hope it gets better soon! Side-lying is my favorite, it's so cuddly and relaxing
I think you're right. I fall asleep like that and when I wake up he has been on for about an hour! It isn't cracked...just very sore. I'm lubing them up with lanolin like crazy in hopes it helps!!
Are you getting a good latch while laying down?
My right side is killing me - and I finally figured out he's not latching as well on that side for some reason. Now that I take the time to get a good latch, it's improving.
Also - Lanolin, and make sure you're letting your nipples dry before putting them away (lol!). Also, dry breast pads. I just switched to the Nuks - they seem to be working better for me as they don't have the plastic-ish backing.
