Trendy "Plus-Size" shopping?

Okay nesties. I feel as though I need to update some of my wardrobe. I usually shop at Maurice's and Lane Bryant for my clothes. I typically wear a 16/18 top and 18 in jeans. Any other ideas for cute, trendy plus size clothing? I need to start going to different stores!

  • Old Navy online has plus sizes.
  • Bombshell Beauty is local plus size blogger, and she has great clothes.  Her blog might give you some ideas.

  • These two are local but online only.

If I recall correctly, they used to work together but parted ways about a year ago maybe.

there is also a new plus sized store on Grand, haven't visited it personally but it was featured in the PPress a while ago.  Not sure who the target age is but it might be worth checking out too.

  • Thank you! Looks like I'll be going shopping sometime in the near future!

  • The store on Grand Ave. is Bombshell.  http://www.bomb-shell-boutique.com/index.shtml.  They have some really cute dresses, skirts, jeans and tops.  It's definitely not your typical Lane Bryant, Avenue, Macy's stuff.  I've gone a handful of times, always during the day so the owner and another woman were there.  They were super nice and helpful, even if the non-owner hovered a bit too much.  I do have to give them credit for being honest about things that didn't look good on me.

They carry Kiyonna and Igigi which you can find online, sometimes on sale, especially if you join their facebook pages.

This online botique has some cute things, too. http://boutiquelarrieux.com/index.php

  • I personally love Fashion Bug. They have petite and tall sizes too, which is nice. Also, Dress Barn has some nice plus size stuff.

Fashion Bug does have some good stuff, but I feel like you have to sift through it at a little too.  Some of their stuff makes me go "huh?" ;)

Ditto OldNavy.com for good work basics.  It's really affordable, and it's lasted me awhile.  I usually order two different sizes if I'm not sure which one will fit, and then just return (free shipping!) the stuff that doens't work.

I feel like you have to sift through stuff at any store, plus size or not. I've yet to find a store that I liked everything they had.

I feel like Fashion Bug is layed out nice and it's easy to see what they have and just walk past the stuff I don't like. I do a lot less sifting there than I do even at Target or Kohls.

Just my experience. Every shopper is different. Big Smile
