Clicky Grocery Shopping Poll
Generally H and I go grocery shopping together, but today I went alone. I thought it would cut down on impulse buying and I think for the most part it did. Maybe from now on I'll do the shopping and just have H pick up the random thing. (ie: I'm in the middle of cooking dinner and we're out of milk, can you pick some up on way home from work?) Just wondering how everyone else shops - and do you do a lot of impulse buying or do you stick strictly to your list?

Re: Clicky Grocery Shopping Poll
I voted other... we're really random. I guess most of the time it's H when I call him at work or on his way home and ask him to pick up such and such. When it's the "big" shopping we sometimes do it together, I do them a lot on my own {actually with my mom... we tend to go to the grocery store a lot together, I'm not sure why LOL}, and sometimes if I REALLY am in no mood to do the huge shopping I'll give H a list and send him. He really likes to go food shopping, more than I do.
I usually have a list for major things we need/are out of, but also buy off the list too.
we'll sit down on saturday or sunday and make a meal plan for the week, and then make a list for shopping.
I literally eat the same breakfast and lunch for 4-9 months at a time, so we will always pick up that same stuff week by week.
If I go by myself, I'll pick up random stuff we dont need, and it will start to add up (because my mother literally got us anything we wanted growing up), and Dh will rarely deviate from the list (all he got for school lunches was a pack of saltines everyday for lunch growing up). when DH goes by himself, he ends up bringing home the type of yogurt that I wont eat. Which brings me back to the fact that I eat the same lunch for MONTHS at a time, so its not a major issue, but it leaves me lunch-less.
Plus, it's nice to go shopping on a saturday or sunday night when theres barely anyone there.
