How's the house hunting going? I saw your post about your refund going towards a down payment.

Thanks! I saw those before, but they all seem... kind of cookie cutter to me.  I have reservations, because we've stalked the webcam a few times, and have never seen more than just a couple dogs?

Akstanl- I think I spoke too soon. We're still debating whether to buy a house now... or wait a year or so.  We got a really good refund. But we could also use that to pay off almost all of our CC debt (mostly school-related expenses, but still CC debt.)  Thanks for asking though!

  • I'm surprised to hear you have never seen more than a couple dogs. Most days have at least 10-15 (there were 10 in just the hotel this weekend) - some have as many as 30. If you look around the noon hour most dogs are there then.

I'll be honest. Now that I just realized you're the OWNER of Woof Room, this whole review left a bad taste in my mouth.

For now, I think we'll stick with Woof-Dah.  The reason I liked them so much is because the dogs are never kenneled (except for about 30 minutes to eat.)  They also don't accept any small dogs (under 15 pounds??) which is better for our dog.  He's a 60-pound Husky/Golden mix who was attacked by a little white dog when he was a puppy.  I have nothing against small dogs, but mine, understandably, is skittish around them.

Hopefully I can find something similar in the North/East suburbs!

  • Hi Steph,

I wasn't leaving a review - you asked for reviews so I gave the link to where many clients have reviewed TWR. You also commented you didn't see many dogs at TWR so I was simply telling you what is normal and when to look.

I wouldn't review my own business - just like I never review Deckci on The Knot. Fortunately, with both businesses, happy clients speak for themselves.

There are quite a few dog daycares in the North/east suburbs (Dog Days, Stone Mountain, etc). I'm not sure if they would meet all the things you are looking for - but most dog daycares (like TWR) separate dogs for the majority of the day by size - and few kennel them. I don't believe Dog Days kennels their dogs (TWR doesn't either).

Anyways, good luck in your search for a closer dog daycare!

  • Thanks for the additional information.

It just came off weird that you were 'defending' TWR.  had you just said "hey! Work at Woof Room, and there are usually way more dogs than that" It would've been different, ya know?

    Anyway, we'll keep looking.  Thanks.

  • Sorry, I just assumed you knew since the original post said the owners of Deckci also own The Woof Room - and you know I own Deckci from emails we've exchanged.

But, no problem. I know to be much more explicit in the future.
