well, that's now how i thought yesterday would go....

i was up with dh for 22 hours yesterday. LONG DAY.

short story: we we ended up in the ER last night

long story: sunday started early at 4:30 a.m. when i woke up to go support DH in an olympic distance triathlon.  1.5K Swim; 40K Bike, and 10K run... my favorite part about it is that after swimming AND biking, dh ran his 10k (which is ~6 miles)  in juuuuuust over what I'd do a 5k in (~3 miles). hahahha. he's a machine, i tell you!!

anywho, so afterwards we lounged around all day for the most part. dh had a lot to catch up on at work, so even though we both have monday off- he planned to go in to work. b/c we only have 1 car (he rides his bicycle to work), the sunday evening ritual includes him driving his food and uniforms in to his office to prepare for the week. welllllllll, while he was at the office last night, he decided to get a couple of things cleaned up/worked on, and while he was trying to scrape off something with a knife, he cut his thumb. bad.

he left the house around 8pm and at 9:15pm he calls me from work and tells me what happened and he'll be home just as his thumb stopped bleeding. when he finally gets home, his thumb had been bleeding for >1 hour and it wasnt stopping anytime soon, so we head to the ER (a 45 minute drive away.....) we waited about 2 hours before he could be seen b/c they only had 1 doctor working and then it took them a while to work on him, but in the end he got 4 stitches and we finally got to bed around 2:30am!!! GEEZ LOUISE!!

glad i didnt have to go to work today!

it did teach me a lesson, though: DONT LET PETTY THINGS GET IN THE WAY OF MAKING SURE YOU TELL YOUR HUSBAND YOU LOVE HIM BEFORE YOU OR HE LEAVES THE HOUSE. We had a mini-argument about something stupid in the early afternoon, so there was a little tension between us before he left and we didnt kiss/say i love you before he left the house like we normally do. it could have been worse or something else could have happened.... :-/
