Crazy PreSchool Registration Vent
The doors opened for registration this morning at 7am. I thought if I was there at 6:40 I would be one of the first people there- WRONG. I was #9. People started lining up at 6am. We had to wait outside too.
We will find out in 2 weeks if we are in. . .nuts!
Re: Crazy PreSchool Registration Vent
Oh man - was that for the Bethlehem Lutheran preschool? We toured it, but had already gotten in at the other one so decided not to apply, but that is crazy!
Good luck!!
You should watch the documentary called "Nursery University". It was in-tense!! It was about families in New York City trying to get their kids into preschool. It was more involved that most people's COLLEGE search and application process!!! It was insane the things these families did to make sure their little darling got into just the right school. And this was pre-school! One dad at the end made a comment about having to do it for kindergarten next year and how much worse that is.
Fingers crossed you get good news in 2 weeks!
Good Luck!
I just got a letter that my daughter didn't win the lottery for my 1st Grade choice (kindergarten has been a disaster).
I'm likely going to temporarily rent an apartment within my school of choice's boundaries to get her out of the disaster of a school district that we're currently in.
Yes it was for BCCC. I do not have a back up either!
Wouldn't it be cheaper (and easier) to just send her to a private school?
Really, I mean no offense, I'm just baffled by this.

I know it's crazy - and I never thought I'd be pushed this far to the edge of crazyland by kindergarten, but I'm there. It is unbelievable how bad my daughter's school is - really.
Anyway - no, it's not cheaper to send her to private school. If I find a temporary address and enroll my daughter in the school of my choice while my address matches their boundaries I should be able to move out of the boundaries at any time and retain her enrollment. I'm not 100% on this - and I'm still researching other options including charter schools and private schools. Sorry, I'm desperate - I can barely bring myself to send her to school on a daily basis.
