So I've been job hunting for about 2 months now, since we're finally settled in and have learned our new area pretty well, and I found the PERFECT job posting. I applied for the job and got a phone interview last Wednesday...and they called me back for a face-to-face interview this coming Wednesday!
I'm so super nervous because I reallllly want this job...it's beyond perfect for me! So if it's not too much trouble, please send some of those awesome Nestie vibes my way!
And, care to share your best interview tips?
Thanks girlies!!
Re: tips and vibes please!!
yay!!! sending lots of vibes your way!!
I don't really have very good tips to share. I'm usually really shy talking to new people so before my interviews I try to kind of give myself a pep talk and mentally go over my interview and what my qualifications are and why they are so great so I feel great going into the interview.
Smile a lot too
hopefully someone will be along to give you better tips than mine hehe
Good luck to you! Lots of vibes coming your way!
My best advice is to have concrete examples from previous work experience prepared to answer questions with. It's always hard for me to come up with those on the spot, so I like to have them ready in advance. But it's better to give an exact example that you've experienced than just a hypothetical answer.
I also like to have an answer prepared for the "what is your weakness" question. I hate that question!!

Find out as much as you can about the company with which you're interviewing so that you know what they need and how you can best help to meet that need. Really listen to what the interviewer is saying (difficult if you're nervous), and be sure to answer as concisely but thoroughly as possible with (as PP said) specific examples of similar situations you've dealt with in the past. As for the weakness questions, state a weekness that you can give an example of how you overcome it. This website has some good suggestions http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_reply_to_'What_are_your_strengths_and_weaknesses'_in_an_interview
Don't be afraid to ask a few questions of your interviewers. One of my favorites is "What makes you like working here?" I find the answers can be telling as to the work atmosphere.
Good luck! I hope you get it!
