Baby Shower Favor- opinions needed
I am throwing my sister's baby shower at the end of March. I don't know what to do about favors. I'm not trying to decide what to get, I'm trying to decide whether or not to do them. I am not a favor girl and wouldn't care if I got one at a shower or not, but I don't know if there is some expectation of a favor. I don't want to be considered a bad hostess.
What's your opinion on shower favors?
Re: Baby Shower Favor- opinions needed
I love favors, but that's because they're the bulk of my business! If you're interested in small candles with a baby powder scent (or any scent, really) and custom labeling, let me know and I'll get your some details.
Honestly, though, if I hadn't had so many people ordering them for baby showers, I wouldn't have even thought to miss favors if they weren't there at a baby shower.
I always vote for anything edible as favors, because (honestly) I toss anything else. So if you do want to do something, I vote lollipops or chocolates or something - there's tons of cute baby-related designs. But if you didn't do anything, I don't think anyone would notice.
THIS! I just went to a baby shower at my church a couple weeks ago and my step MIL made these adorable white chocolate pops that were blue and shaped like a baby foot. Although they were adorable, only a handful of people even remembered to take them home, so there were a TON left. I'd say either something easy and edible or nothing at all (other than small prizes for the game winners). GL!

I completely agree with Erica. Edible favors are the best, if you're going to do something.
My BMs got M&Ms in my wedding colors and put them in small baggies with a note for my shower favors. It was cute...but I'm sure there are tons of baby-related sweets you could give

Edible is always good!
I just went to a "bowling baby party" (family-style baby shower at a bowling alley) and they gave away little bottles of Purell! It was perfect for the setting and I definitely took one home and will use it.
SIL threw a shower for her cousin and the favors were little notebooks with pens like this but green with a monkey (her decor theme) and it said "Welcome Baby Lastname, October 2010" on it. It fits in my purse and I have used it several times. Everyone loved them.

I wouldn't expect a favour at a shower. But if you do, there are some really cute candle options:
This website has tons of tin container options (glass as well) http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp
But as I said, I wouldn't expect a favour. Especially, as Allie mentioned, if there are going to be prizes for games. And leftover noms.

I agree with edible favors. I am hosting a baby shower in April and we are doing Cake ball lollipops.

i've seen favors at all of the crazy showers i've been two in the past three years...(i think like 30? between babies and weddings?)
alot of them were edible (my shower had white chocolate lighthouses
) and for baby showers the cutest idea is this pattern online....you take dish cloths, and fold them and pin them so they look like baby hats...i've used both cloths somewhere in the apartment....if i can find one still put together i'll PIP
its whatever you want to do...I think it depends on what your family/friends do.....what the trend is in the circles you move in.
