AW: Too freaking cute
So I posted last week that it was my niece's third birthday, and y'all know I went to Birmingham the weekend before Valentine's day to see her & give her her birthday presents & make her cupcakes. My sister posted pictures on FB last night & one is Addy with one of the flamingo cupcakes I made her.
I always love Addy pictures, but I'm proud of how those little pink birds turned out. I got the idea from a book called "What's New Cupcake?" but kind of changed a few things according to what I had. I made marshmallow fondant (SO easy, and way yummier than Wilton) for the heads & wings, and the neck is a pretzel stick. I covered them with melted white chocolate with a little bit of pink gel food coloring & stuck a half of a banana Runt to the head as a beak. And the body is just a vanilla lemon cupcake dyed light pink with pink vanilla buttercream covered in pink coconut. Booyah.

one of my bff's who was a bridesmaid made me cupcakes for my shower....i was SO excited about it cause she's awesome
she does things like ducks, penguins, walruses, turtles, etc.....she even did christmas ones with clairice, rudolph and hermie....they were awesome 
She uses that cupcake book too...i want one!
