I know we've done this before, I even saved the post, but can't find it since my old computer crashed.
I need a good, inexpensive convertible car seat for MIL to have. She wants to buy one on craigslist and I keep having to reiterate that you don't know where it's been. With this, of all things, she wants to be cheap. So, I know there are some out there like the Costco etc., but with recalls etc. wanted to ask you girls. We have the Britax Marathon for my car and I love it since it goes up to 65lbs. I'd like something in that range for MIL too , but it doesn't have to be super cushy like the marathon since DD will only be in it once a week, tops ![]()
Thanks!!
Re: 2nd vehicle convertible seat
Rick's parents have this one for their car - I didn't find it on the recall list

That's the one my parents have in VA (except with the girly pink print). It works fine.
The only thing that trips me up is that on the Marathon, you pull up on the lever to release the belt and on the Scenera you push down. Minor annoyance.
Don't worry about the weight limit. Something like 99% of all kids outgrown the height before the weight.
We have the Costco Scenara (from Target, which is a bit different than the Walmart one, **I think**, I do know there are two different versions of it) which Chris uses to take her to DCP in the am, every day that I work OT in the am. It works great, was $50 and lightweight.
I've heard good things about the Graco MyRide and also there is another new Graco one out there, but is a bit more expensive. The MyRide's run about $85 I think.
This is our second one as well. For the amount of time she's in this one, it's fine. It is certainly of a different quality than our Britax.
I also couldn't figure out how to recline it, but that's just operator error :-)
We have two of these as well and haven't had any problems with them. I got ours on Amazon.com.
