Okay, so my littlest bunny, Jude loooooves to be held. Which is totally weird for a rabbit (they usually don't like to be picked up). But she loves to be in my arms and pet and held close (she's in my lap as I type, and if I stop petting, she licks me to remind me that she's still there and needs attention). So, she's definitely a high maintenance AW Bunny. But, I have a lot of stuff to do around the house throughout the day. And as much as I would love to just sit and hold my sweet little Jude, I can't.
So be honest with me. Would it make me totally and completely bonkers if I somehow found a pet carrier that I could wear? Is it weird to wear your rabbit? I think she might like it, and then I'd have my hands free for homework and laundry and dishes and stuff. But Huz said it will make me officially Crazycakes (even more than my usual crazy bunny lady self). I wouldn't wear it in public, just around the house.
You can tell me the truth. It won't hurt my feelings.
Re: Be honest with me
Um... Yeah, that's a little over the top.
Sorry.. You said to be honest.
Well, I feel like I'm pretty much the authority on Pet Wearing
and I say yes, it does make you crazy, but I would totally do it. You could probably just get a baby sling and put her in that. If nothing else but to encourage her to continue being so loving.
only because you are my comadre, but dude! this made me LOL. i got a picture of you wearing jude..and no. just no!
do not do it!! please?
Comadre, just remember! Jude's original name before we adopted her was "Justin Beiber". Does that sway you? jk
Little Jude must be the luckiest bunny alive.

If you are crazycakes then I am too because my first thoughts were:
1. If you do find a carrier will you become a slave to it because Jude will expect to be in it at all times?
2. Will Hef and Holly suddenly feel left out and desire more physical contact and suddenly you will be wearing all 3 of them all the time?
3. I wonder how you could fashion something like that....maybe a pseudo moby wrap kind of thing?
Money Matters The other half's blog.
EJ is growing up too fast!
Haha, can I sit on the CrazyTrain with you?
1. I think you have a good point. I could create a needy Bunny Monster. I think she loves attention from us because the other buns still don't love and play with her. Sometimes they tolerate her, most times they ignore her, or chase her away. ::coo-coo alert:: I think my "mommy guilt" flares up becaue the other Buns don't play with her. We're all she has.
2. Holly *hates* being picked up. She doesn't even really like to be touched. She'll put up with a couple of pets on the head if I bribe her with a treat, but she hates being held or picked up. She gets so annoyed and stomps at us if we try to love on her like that. She will only accept cuddles from Hef. And Hef... he'll tolerate being pet for a little while, but he just wants us to let down our guard so he can make a break for it. He is so intent on getting into the "No Buns Allowed" areas of the house. I don't think he would sit still in a carrier, and I don't think he would really enjoy it. He's way to active and curious. We pet him and brush him and he'll take it. But I see those little wheels turning in his head. He's always plotting. lol
3. I did a little search online, and couldn't really find anything that I liked. But I like your idea of a moby or wrap of some kind. I don't think a rabbit will sit in a baby bjorn thing. She would probably have to be wrapped. Which wouldn't really be a problem. When she was really little, we wrapped her in an old t-shirt and held her while sitting on the couch, and she would fall asleep that way for hours. She is such a weirdo! She's the only snuggly bunny like that that I've ever met.
I know I sound completely insane now. I give you all permission to laugh (or judge) as you see fit.
Oh Lawd, these ladies (and gentleman) DO look crazy!
They make carriers for small dogs, so you could definitely get one for your rabbit. My friends had one for their "teacup" yorkie (I hate that term "teacup"...it just means badly bred, but ANYWAY...). They called it their Puppy Bjorn. So yeah, you could probably find it at PetSmart...Bunny Bjorn.
Is it crazy? A little. But, there were plenty of times when Rustie was really young that when he slept, I would thank GOD he was asleep...and if I left the room, he'd wake up and go wild. He would only sleep if he was touching me, and I could only get things done if he was asleep (this was like the first 1-2 months he was with us, and I couldn't not watch him every second b/c of chewing, accidents, etc)...I definitely considered it, trust.
It's crazy... crazy AWESOME.
I'm totally with the "crazy, but do it" camp. I used to have guinea pigs and, through lots of research, learned they need a lot more space then most people give them and the only way to get a proper sized cage was to build your own.
And then I got a little crazy with a scalloped edge "banister" for the carpeted stairs, popsicle sticks to accent their hidey hole, and a clear tube for them to run through covered in blue and white strips of felt with varying widths to make it tres chic. See here: http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos/showfull.php?photo=7675
So, maybe I hold a first class ticket on the crazy train, but it looked cool and our guinea pigs LOVED it. And, like you said, we're their shot at happiness so why the heck not spoil them? It would undoubtedly make your bun super happy and since you obviously enjoy her loving behavior, go for it. Screw the humans, pets are where it's at.

i agree. i'd totally do it. it does make you that crazy bunny lady, but so what? if it makes you and bunny happy who cares?
