Re: Monday Bitching

  • I'm sick of these effing stitches. It makes doing so many things a PITA.

I'm hungry. & bored. Bad combination.

  • It is gorgeous outside and all H wants to do is sit on the couch and watch tv. I'm trying to talk him into going to the beach to eat lunch at Flounder's. I don't think it's working. I'm very annoyed.

  • It is gorgeous out and I want to be out, not sitting inside working.  I'm home and the dogs are laying out in the yard soaking up the weather and I'm jealous of them.  Yeah, I'm jealous of my dogs.

  • PG heartburn sucks!  I get it daily no matter what I eat.

Getting kicked in the ribs constantly is no fun either.

I wish I had today off so I could be outside enjoying this weather instead of having to sit in this stupid office.

One of my friends suggested pineapple to help with the heartburn - I haven't tried it, but it's got to be better than Tums! :)

  • I wish I would not have blown off my run yesterday. It would've been a day 3 run & I always SUCK IT HARD when I run 3 days in a row. Instead, I'm stuck running 6.5 miles tonight after work. Boo.

  • Being pregnant sucks so far. I wake up in the middle of the night to pee every night and then can never get back to sleep. "Morning" sickness started this week and I had to cancel plans yesterday cuz I felt too sick to even leave my couch. I'm happy I'm pregnant, trulty, but man, how does something that's not even a quarter of a centimeter cause so much discomfort?

On another pregnancy note, I had my appt on Friday at Baptist and went up to my mom's floor to see her afterwards. I get up there and a lady at the desk says "Congratulations" to me. I stared at her and then asked my mom what the hell she was telling me congratulations for? Apparently, since I told my sister I was pregnant, my mom thought that meant it was okay for her to tell all her coworkers. I'm over it now but man I was pissed for a little bit.

I must have missed your BFP - congratulations!!  When are you due?

I have a similar gripe.  I get up a few times a night to pee too and a few times a week, once I'm up, I cannot get back to sleep.  I'm exhausted, I just can't sleep.

Last night around 12:45, I heard a loud crash and jumped out of bed.  A guy had run into a "caution - children playing" sign right outside of our bedroom window and just barely missed our fence.  He was outside of his car yelling into his phone and picking up pieces of his car - he totally tore up our yard on the side of the house and this morning I noticed that apparently he went through our neighbors front yard as well, since it's all torn up.  Lovely, huh?

I couldn't get back to sleep after he finally left and laid there wide awake for 2 hours.. no fun :(

  • Just found out we OWE $1100 for out taxes. I was thinking we'd get a couple hundred refunded. On DH's student loans, we paid $5000 and only $990 went towards principle. FML.

*One small glimmer of hope is I just put a call in with our STD/LTD insurance person to find out if I'll get any STD coverage when I'm on maternity leave. I had been assuming I'd have 3 whole months unpaid, so fingers crossed!!!!*

I am now up every 2 hours to pee at night.  I guess at least this is preparing me for feedings every 2 hours once baby dragon arrives!

Fingers crossed!  Ours pays you 66% for the amount of time your OB approves, which is typically 6 weeks for a vaginal delivery and 8 weeks for a c-section.  They approved mine for 8 weeks since I had surgery related to mastitis the Thursday before I was supposed to go back.

  • DH was supposed to have a 4-day weekend this weekend (Friday through Monday, as given by the base CO), but his department cancelled it for them because of some last-minute planning on something that's going on this week that they've known about for months. The worst part was that the meeting he had to come in for and wait until it was done to leave wasn't called until 4:30pm Friday, and he didn't even have any reason to be there. The event won't affect him, but he has to be there anyway.

And he had to be there today for a 21-gun salute for something or other. So he didn't get either of his days off. At least he'll be able to come home early today, though. It just sucks when other people can't plan, and he gets the brunt of the crap from it.

Good to know, thanks! 66% for 6 weeks would be amazing since all along I've been expecting zero, and saving like crazy! I'm getting antsy to hear back from the girl! And I'm kicking myself for not taking out a personal STD policy last year when they were offered in addition to the company provided, non worker's comp one.

  • I don't understand why doctors (or vets) can't tell you how much your appointment will be before you go in. I have insurance, plug it in and tell me, it's what you do when I'm standing in front of you after wards.
  • I wasn't able to get on very much yesterday, so I'm going to continue this into Tuesday.

My super awesome new job, which I love...doesn't qualify for FMLA. OF COURSE.

We did our taxes last night and owe. Only $155, but still. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be more beneficial to file separately. Dumb question alert: Are you even allowed to do that, or do you have to meet certain requirements?

I file using H&R Block online. Every year, before I file, I run it through both ways - filing together & separately. Together is more beneficial for us.

We use turbo tax and ran our taxes both ways as well to see which way we would get more back.  I think I remember that we ended up getting more back filing separately but I would have to double check on that.

I plan to do this as well. Most of the time, filing jointly will work out best, but there are rare occasions, so check it out both ways.
