Riverbank Run?

Is anyone doing the 25K race at the Riverbank Run this spring? I'm thinking about it...

Re: Riverbank Run?

  • I'd be lucky to get into 5K shape by that point.  I always watch though - I have several family members and friends that run it every year.
  • I'm doing the 10K.  I don't have time to train for the 25K.  =P

  • You betcha!  My husband and I and a few of our friends are running the 25K.

I haven't started really training yet.  I'm keeping a base of a about 20 miles a week and throwing in some long runs (up to 10 miles).  I'll probably start sticking to more of a scheduled increase of long runs sometime in March.

Have you started training?  Good luck and I'm glad you're at least considering it!  It's a great race - good course, well organized, etc.

  • I haven't started training at all, but went for two 3-mile runs last week and now I feel all ambitious. The race is 12 weeks from Saturday, which is enough time to safely train for the distance I think. The next price hike isn't until April 22, so I think I'll start training and see what things look like in a month.

That's awesome!  I think 12 weeks is the perfect amount of time to build up to race shape.  Some might recommend more time, but I'm a low mileage, run 3 or 4 times a week kind of runner.

  • I'll be there, likely running it as at training run for the Bayshore Marathon that is two weeks later.
