The boss is on vacation for the next 2 weeks! We're all very happy around my office because it's always more relaxed when he's not here.
What's going on in your life that makes you happy right now?
Re: Woohoo!
Great post!
We just booked our trip for our Anniversary week! We're spending a week at an Historic B&B in Savannah, GA on Tybee Island...can't wait!!!
OMG, I hate you! DH and I wanted to go to Savannah but it was just too expensive and too far to drive for a weekend. We are actually going to Baltimore instead!
LOL!!!! No way - you are coming to my hometown!!! You'll love it - I am a huge fan of Baltimore (could you tell?)...Where are you guys staying? Do you have any site seeing plans? If you need neat suggestions, I'm your girl :-)))
ps - I am super excited about Savannah! I've always said that one of the items on my bucket list is to vacation in all of the states in our great nation (and its territories)...especially historically significant locations. There is so much beauty in our country!
Ooooo love when the boss is away
I'm happy cause DH and I had a nice weekend and 2 of our wonderful friends got married and we are starting the week on a Tuesday....hopefully it flies by!
We are staying at the Marriott Waterfront on the Inner Harbor with a water view room. It was our big splurge. We're only going for a weekend, so we pretty much have our plans all set. We'll get there around 4ish on Friday. Saturday we are going to the Aquarium and then walking around the harbor although we don't really know what's there. Sunday we have tickets to see Cirque in the early afternoon. The only thing we need assistance on is where to eat. I really want some good crab cakes and we'd prefer to be in walking distance of the hotel. I would love your help with any ideas!
DH originally wanted to propose to me in Savannah but he couldn't get the time off work to make the trip. It looks like such a beautiful place, but we were really looking for some place we could drive too and Baltimore is only 3 hours away. I'm so jealous you get to go. I want to see all the squares around town and visit Tybee Island. I'm sure you're going to have a great time.
Party time!!!
Enjoy it!

YOu must make dinner reservations at Elizabeth's. It's an old victorian home that has been turned into a nice, romantic restaurant. I went there for my 30th birthday & it was wonderful. (sadly it was not with DH - that was befor ewe started dating). Here's the link: http://www.elizabethon37th.net/
Yayyy fun for you!
I am excited about our Mardi Gras party coming up in 2 weeks! And my parents are visiting the week after that.
Whoops, I think that's for Stacy.
Nice!!! First off, the Marriott Waterfront is an AMAZING hotel! In fact, once you get there, you'll see that there is a "circle" with cobblestone road about two blocks from the hotel, with a large gold statue in the center(memorial to War Vets). It will be surrounded by really neat (and all fairly new) office buildings.
This area is known as Harbor East, and I work in one of those buildings with the complete glass walls on one side. On nice days, I often go to the MWF and sit on the benches along the water (where you can get the water taxi to the Inner Harbor Pavillions) to have lunch and sometimes just to get out of the office and enjoy the quiet.
Your itinerary sounds awesome! Harbor Place has a lot of neat places to see, but if you'd like a really cool experience, not too far (actually, just a few blocks) from where you're staying is an area called "Fells Pt." There is great nightlife, excellent shops and quaint restaurants. It's also on the water. In fact, if you walked the sidewalk in a straight line along the front in Harbor East, you'd practically run right into it. It's where you'll also see some yachts and small boats anchored. On a good day, you may even see Michael Phelps, as he lives there and frequents the neighborhood spots a lot when he's in town.
As for the crab cakes - the great thing about Baltimore is that it is hard to find a bad crabcake anywhere :-) Right around the corner from where you are staying is an Irish Pub named "James Joyce" - they have a tasty crab cake. In fact, the restaurant in your hotel also has one of my favorite crabcakes downtown!
I'm going on...but I'm a "homer", so I apologize :-) You are going to have an awesome time! Take plenty of pictures!!
Me too!!! I would love to have explored the entire country and see what's special about each state. I'm only up to 14 states visited, so I better get cracking!
Liz - good for you - enjoy your lazy days at work!!!!!!!!
It's so nice to know that we picked a good hotel. You never can be sure. We've seen a little about Fells Point from looking online and thought about walking down there. It looks like they have a lot going on. And maybe we'll have a celebrity sighting!
James Joyce sounds like exactly what we were looking for, too. There are a lot of restaurants with really nice menus, but it all sounds so expensive! I really just wanted a bar or something, so this sounds perfect.
And you can go on all day, I do the same thing when people (rarely) visit my hometown just because of all the history. This is also the trip where we are officially breaking in our new DSLR camera, so there will be plenty of pics to share on FB when we get back.
I know! I feel like breaking out and singing the "The Star Spangled Banner" or something...lol...for me, I'm only at 20...I have plenty to get cracking on too! But the other part is, some of those visits were for business and not pleasure - have to fix that!
