My son turned one on Feb 8. In the beginning of January we decided to introduce milk into his diet. We went with Organic Whole milk, adding an ounce to each of his bottles to wean him onto it. About a week and a half into the process he got bad diarrhea and a bad diaper rash. So I stopped the milk. About 2 days later he vomitted his whole bottle and started tugging at his ears. So we went to the Dr and he had an ear infection (not a really bad one). He went on antibiotics (and stayed off of milk) for a few days but didnt seem to be getting better (no more diarrhea or diaper rash but overall lethargic and complaining of ear pain). So we went back to the Dr and they changed his dosage on the antibiotic (he was actually taking too much, but that is a whole other story...).
So at his 1 yr appt (which was also a follow up to the ear infection) he was given the green light on his ear and I was told to try milk again, that the diarrhea was probably due to the ear infection.
He is on Enfamil AR which is a milk based formula BTW.
So we started over, adding about an ounce of milk to his bottle again. We started on Sunday. He vomitted for 2 hours last night and has had diarrhea all day today.
BUT, on Friday and Saturday my husband was sick with a stomach bug.
What do you think the odds are of my son have diarrhea twice now, right after starting milk, but due to a virus?
I don't know if I should stop the milk and try again later or say forget it and put him on Soy milk. I was lactose intolerant when I was a baby but his formula is milk based so is it possible that he could still be allergic?
I know I should call the Dr again but I am starting to feel like "that mother" who calls them for everything. I know I should just do it but my gut instinct is telling me that its a milk allergy but my analytical side is saying that it cant be possible. Anyone else run into this issue? I don't want to put him through another round of milk if this is going to happen again.
I am sorry this is all over the place, I am tired from no sleep and frustrated that this keeps happening to him.
I guess I would just like to ask, what would you do?

Re: Sick Baby Question (long)
I'd call the doctor and see what they recommend.
Personally, I would not do soy unless absolutely necessary. DH had read an article in Men's health about soy, and it was a real eye opener. If you google it, you'll find lots of info too. Also, a lot of time when you have a milk allergy, you are also allergic to soy.
