Runners check in

I miss the check ins.

So, how is everyone doing? Races? Running plans?

Re: Runners check in

  • I'm at my lowest mileage ever. I've been in a depressed funk and not even running seems to pull me out. I've got a half in 3 weeks though, so I gotta get it together. So I plan to run everyday thats left of this week and just kick myself in gear.

Upcoming half is on March 13th. I dont plan to set a PR, but just finish around the time as past halfs and I'll be happy. That might be a stretch though.

  • I was going to take over the check in, but then my running got a lot less regular and I didn't want to post about the pregnancy at the time, so I didn't post it.  I miss it too though!  It helps me stay (somewhat) accountable.

My mileage is really (!) low too right now.  My energy has been really low, but I don't want to lose all my fitness and running ability, so I'm trying to keep it up a little bit.  It's a LOT harder to find the time during the day these days.

I'm registered for a half March 13th too...definitely will not be PRing, and not sure I can run the whole thing but would like to give it a try.  I mentioned maybe not doing it (via fb to a friend who is doing it) and she said she might have someone interested in buying my bib.  If that happens, I'll skip the race.  But if I still have the bib, I think I'll give it a go.  We'll see.

    Good luck, T!!!

I will be doing the 5K portion. If you want to meet up for coffee afterwards, that would be great!

I did a 5K loop on the treadmill and I was WIPED. I have to admit that was my first time doing more than a mile on a treadmill. Definitely different. I will be going out on the trail on Sunday to do another 3-4 miles.

I am really focused on losing some more wt and I think it is helping with my running. I can run alot longer than I used to (I used to have to stop after 5 mins, now it is 10 mins).

I did not sign up for any more races for the year b/c I am not sure of our TTTC/IF outcome.

I am kind of burnt out on races b/c of last year and I nearly killed myself in training. I think this year I am going to sign up for races when I can and that I enjoy instead of PR.

  • Signed up for a 5K with my sister on 3/13...

After that, I am trying to decide b/w Pescadero Artichoke 1/2 and the "Other Half" Half in SF in April---anyone have any opinions/recommendations?  Trying to stay somewhat local to save the $$ of traveling...

Stef--can you keep us updated re: how running/workouts are going while pregnant?  I am curious (we won't TTC for awhile, but just curious as what to expect)

  • I'm keeping on track to train for a full, but fell off the wagon last week. Recovered with a great 6 miler on Saturday and plan to do 7 this Saturday. I should be at 8, but I did 8 the other week when I expected only 7.

I'm currently signed up for the Seattle RnR half in June, and have yet to sign up for hte SF full in July but need to do that soon.

The only other race I'm signed up for is an 8k next month.

  • Last week I was at 4 miles, just feeling like crap due to AF and then middle of the week said "eff it"  (although I somehow thought to myself that I needed the break) and only ran 4 miles Saturday; This week will be better. I was supposed to run a half next weekend in Chico but that is not going to happen as DH and I are in the process of closing on our house (3/11 is our date) and since I need to save every dollar and not have a lot of activity on my checking account, I didn't sign up. Shooting for a half marathon on the trails in May (Cinderella run).

  • I'm in also in the low mileage right now.  For a couple of reasons.  1 being I've been sick 24 days out of the 53 days this year.  And sick enough that I couldn't physically run.  :(  And reason number 2 I'm pregnant with baby #3 (not ill from that) so I've been exhausted.

I'm trying to do 3x3 mile runs a week, but I'm lucky if I get 1 or 2 in.

I signed up for a 5k in June, I'll be 7 months pg then, I figure I will run it, walk if need be.
