I secretly aspire to be one of those crazy coupon ladies. I went to Target tonight and got $50 worth of stuff for $21. (all stuff we needed too, dishwasher detergent, mouthwash, smart ones, powerade, gum, dryer sheets...etc).
I think I scared DH when I showed him my stack of coupons, but it was so gratifying to see all that money come off the total!
Who else has a secret confession they want to share?
Re: Confession Session
I want to start couponing!!! I bought so much pantry stuff last fall on sale though that I cant bring myself to do it until we start running low on food.
Hmm...
I wish I could be an artist, or at least craft for a living.
When I was in elementary school, I had the most amazing art teacher. She inspired and encouraged me so much. She wanted my parents to send me to a creative and performing arts school near us, but since we didnt live in the city limits of that school I couldnt go (my parents couldnt afford it, we were too poor to pay for it).
I need to coupon more.
I really just want to stay at home this week and sleep and craft. I haven't touched my craft stuff in about 3 weeks and I miss it. Hopefully tonight while G is at basketball I can make some cards that are due for the design team that I am on.
I really don't feel like putting up with my boss this week.
I love couponing! the deals at publix are crazy if you hit it right. I go weekly and get $30-50 in stuff for under $15 every time. I only shop for the things that are on sale and that I have coupons for (that we'll actually use)
I'm very frustrated with my getting in shape plan. I've been going to the gym 5-7x a week (40 min+ each time) for almost 2 months and haven't lost a single pound.
There's been some toning..mostly in my legs (which I didn't need much toning in). I'm just tired of pushing so hard and not seeing results. Meanwhile, dh is trying to gain weight. His workouts have been very successful in building muscle like he wants.
I have to stick to it...but it's so hard when you don't see results.
The people on Extreme Couponing need to be on hoarders!!! They have crazy stashes of stuff!
I wish I could stick with couponing, but none of the grocery stores around here double coupons that I know of and I can usually buy cheaper buying store name or at Aldi. I may try again with coupons this summer when I have more time to match ads and coupons and plan what I am going to buy.
I tried couponing for awhile there, but this is what I found to be true. It didn't seem worth my time and effort to get the coupons when store brand items were still cheaper (and what I normally buy anyways).

Yeah, if you don't have stores that double, then I could see that. I swear that will def. be something I research if we ever move to a new area. must have coupon doubling! haha
but w/ doubling you can easily get a lot of things absolutely free. it takes me a few hours a week to plan, but it definitely pays off. there are still some things that I buy at aldi or walmart b/c I need it now or it's something I never see a coupon for
yes ashlee, publix is the bomb! I have more free toothbrushes/toothpaste/bodywashes than we'll ever be able to use. I'm going to start donating them to our church. I love www.iheartpublix.com. I use her site weekly!
i watched the extreme couponing and was actually horrified at some of them. to me it seemed like such a waste. especially the guy at the end he could have used what was in his garage for years and never have to go to the store.
I totally agree with you. I only want to be extreme about stuff I can use and need. I don't need 40 years worth of toilet paper to be stockpiled in my garage! That's just insane.
Ditto this. I havent seen this show yet, but I wonder if/why they dont donate the items they get for free to shelters/food pantrys?
