I didn't know you guys were Team Green!?! I commend you, my friend, for being so patient. We talked about it and H and I both agreed that I would burst if we didn't find out
FWIW, I agree with your mom. I just feel like you are having a girl.
Re: Jax ; )
Thanks, Meg! It's NOT easy.H was the push...he was like you know what, we're not having a shower & not buying anything before hand (Jewish tradition thing),so really, shouldn't we just focus on a healthy baby? Soo...yeah, it's tough for me not to know (the mental preparation!!!) But, it will be super exciting. I think I want H to announce if it is a boy or girl after delivery. My SIL's sister just told me she did that and it sounds very special to me.
Sorry, jumping in.
You dont' buy anything before the birth? Like anything? How do you get the baby home? And what about clothes and diapers and stuff? How can you handle that stress?
I'm kind of curious about this too. Do you get essentials like a car seat and a few outfits? Where does baby sleep when you get home?
I also give you mad props for not finding out the sex. That would drive me bonkers. I'm really hoping baby cooperates for us!
The Sand in My Snow Boots
Parents/siblings buy us stuff when the baby is born.
Truth be told, you don't need a lot when you first bring a baby home. Basinnett, car set, some clothes, formula or breast feeding/pump supplies/burp cloths/etc. Plus then when the baby is home, people visit, bring things to you, etc. It's helpful to not be stressed since my sister most recently went through this. While I am at the hospital, I will give my mom/MIL a list of things we want/need (eg what type of bassinet/car set/crib/etc) and they'll pick it up for us.
A lot of our friends have alluded to buying things for us ahead of time and keeping it at their homes (I have one that supposedly is collecting things as she sees them...). It's not like a new born plays with a ton of toys right away!
So, I am not too stressed right now. I was stressed, and then I was not stressed. I'm sure the switch will flip once or twice more!
I really do want to buy a diaper bag though myself. I am very specific as to which I want. Obviously.
I am in love with this idea. DH says make sure J is looking because he didn't even THINK about looking at the parts....and then he missed the announcement that it was a girl and didn't know for a couple minutes while I was holding her, lol!
I LOVE this idea! And what a special moment for J to have.
Melissa- that is hilarious and also kind of touching. He must have just been so overwhelmed by the birth that it didn't even matter.
