T is still army crawling, does not say "mama" or "dada" (just lots of babble, although there is highs and lows, etc), does not pull up and certainly does not cruise. She does not pull up on her crib either.
She does clap and understands "no" and will clap when you are pleased with her, or she is pleased with herself!! She has a playskool toy and understands that you need to hit the button to make it work...she does it constantly. She can get on her hands and knees and rock, and will crawl backwards for a bit.
I just can't help to compare her to a few babies that I know are her age, that are doing some of the things she isn't (like climbing up over their toys!). I worry she is never going to get there.
Re: Tell me to stop being a worry wart
I'm sure she's fine and eventually she'll get there. It's awesome that she's rocking on all 4's and going backwards, and that she's clapping to show that she understands the social cues that you're happy w/ her - that's HUGE!! It's SO hard not to compare babies, but really for every baby her age that's walking, there's one that's not...it's just that when your child isn't doing it you tend to focus on those who are. Mention your concerns to your pedi and see what they have to say too if you're really worried.
PS - I know I've mentioned this on this board a few times so hopefully I'm not being annoying, but I didn't walk until 16 months and never crawled (just scooted around on my bum) and even I was within the normal range for development.

I forget when James started crawling, but it was late compared to the other kids born in his month. Some of them were walking before he was crawling! He started walking right before his 1st birthday. One of the kids born his month just started walking a few weeks ago at 18 months. James didn't say much of anything until a month or two after 1. And he was slow to pick them up where other kids were speaking clearly in multiple word sentences. Now he's picking up new words literally every day or two.
The point is... every kid is different. Crawling isn't even a true milestone- so you can throw that worry out the window. I'm sure T is right on track- the normal spread for everything is pretty wide, and I'm sure she is exceling on her own special things and will catch up the rest later. Just think, we're all good at certain things- babies are the same way, being more adept at some skills than others. That doesn't mean she won't get there!
Ditto everyone else! It's impossible not to try and compare your child to the other children in your life and get concerned when you see discrepancies, but it doesn't really mean anything. T's working on her own schedule with her own set of circumstances, and unless her pedi is concerned about something, there's no reason for you to worry.
First, boo to Katie's DCP. Height of unprofessional.
Second, glad you are relaxing. I don't think you should worry yet.
Man, if there is anything I wish I could have stolen before I was laid off is a copy of every month of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire assessment. I would have mailed it to so many of you ladies.
