Granite Countertops

Hi ladies,

My H and I just closed on our new home and would like to look at getting granite countertops. I have looked at Home Depot, but wanted to see if anyone has used another company they really enjoyed working with and did a good job? TIA.

DH and I got our granite and backsplash tiles for our kitchen remodel from Sharon at Ohio Tile. They have a ton of selection and you can pick your particular slab. We were lucky to have connections with the owner and got contractor pricing but even without it I think they were fairly competitive.

Home Emporium recently moved to the old WalMart in Tri-County. They have some basic granite colors at about $20 a square foot. They do not install but the contractors they rec charge another $20 or so per square foot. It might be a good deal if you want something basic. One of my friends used them in their old and new house and were happy.

We are eventually going to replace our formica counters with something else (maybe granite, maybe quartz), but we haven't done it yet. I have heard this company's name as a sponsor on WVXU though and it seems like they have a good selection of granite colors. http://www.arcoirisgranite.com/
