Rep. Don Young on Stevens' conviction

So Alaska Rep. Don Young has decided to speak out against the injustice of Ted Stevens' conviction.

Apparently the residents of the District of Columbia are incapable of providing a member of Congress with a jury of peers, because:

"You have to understand that this was not a jury of his peers. It was in Washington, D.C. , which most people in Washington, D.C., don't look very favorably on the Congress because we run them. I don't know why anybody didn't bring that out. They're not a self-governing city like they say they are. We actually make decisions for them. Makes us very, very suspicious."

What a lame excuse.  There are certainly grounds for appeal of the conviction, but I doubt jury bias is among them.

It's like DC finally has a senator vote!

What a nut job.  He's just preparing for his own trial, which is probably inevitable.
