Trash the dress

Anyone doing anything with their wedding attire one more time like a "Trash the Dress" session? I am toying around with the idea with a non-pro photographer.

Just curious!

Re: Trash the dress

  • I thought about it, but we decided against it. I have seen some really awesome Trash the Dress pictures though, if you want to you should go for it!  I think I've talked H into pictures for our first anniversary.  Then we can use them for Christmas cards this year Smile

  • I'm turning my wedding gown into Christening dresses for my babies (that have yet to arrive).  I think that's a nice way to recycle/reuse it because Lord knows no one's daughter wears their mother's gown anymore (hardly anyone).

I don't think I could bring myself to ruin it after all that anticipation/excitement.  I'm pretty sentimental though. :)

  • I know I'm a little late to this party but I'm considering it as well. I've heard from other people who have done it that with a lot of dresses it doesn't mean ruining it at all either. You can just get it dry cleaned after.

  • Thanks for the feedback ladies. I definitely wouldn't do an under-water theme or something muddy, but was thinking more like open field pictures. The only thing I can't grasp is what the heck would I actually do with the photos? Between the wedding photos and engagement pics, I don't know where another set of photos would fit in. I think I am a little obsessed with my gown and wanting to be able to wear it again :-)

The Christening gown sounds like a good plan although cutting it makes me cringe a bit. Hmmm....We shall see. Until then, it sits in a closet at my mom's house.

Just so you know most dresses don't get ruined for TTD.  I did one and my dress is actually cleaner/whiter than it as before.  I had a blast, I went into the ocean, went down a water slide at my resort I stayed at.  It is really so much fun!
