Has anyone ever made it before? If so does anyone care to share their recipe??
I
want to try making it for L's birthday but dont want to just randomly
try a recipe, I would rather it be one someone has made and likes.

Irish Soda Bread
Irish Soda Bread II
I've tried the second one, it's very good. The first one is from Taste of Home and all of their recipes are tested first. I hate raisins so I omitted them (even though that doesn't truly make it Irish Soda Bread).
This is my great grandma Brady's recipe straight outta County Cork, Ireland!
3 c flour, 1 1/4 tsp cream of tartar, 1 tsp baking soda, 3 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 1/2 c sour whole milk (can be made by adding 1tbsp lemon juice to milk), 1 c raisins, 2 tbsp caraway seeds (optional)
In a bowl mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, sugar & salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to 2nd bowl containing milk, raisins & caraway seeds. Add additional flour to dough if needed (until mixtures comes together as 1 solid mass if using a Kitchen Aid mixer). Knead gently on floured board until round ball is formed. Put into greased pie pan. Cut deep "X" onto top of dough ball & brush with milk. Bake @ 350 for 45 min-1hr.
