How often do you clean your children's toys?
Hey everyone,
I'm just wondering how often people clean their children's toys?
Jen
Re: How often do you clean your children's toys?
I clean them when one of my kids is sick, or if a toy is noticeably dirty, and before/after others come and play.
My daughter's lovey/blankie gets cleaned every couple weeks (out of necessity... she sucks on the tag). Good thing we have a back-up!
This, except no backup for Ben's blankie, so it has to get washed first thing in the morning so it's ready for quiet time later ;-) I'm sure I should clean more often but eh, my kids are fine and I clean up before/after other kids playing with it all so I'm not stressing about it.

I hate to say it, but I don't. And I never have. There are just too many!! I only clean specific ones, say, if they get thrown up on or spilled on.
I'm a bad, bad Mom!
Pam, I'm getting more to this point too. It's too much to keep up with. If we've just gone through a sickness I might wipe the main toys down, but man if I cleaned them all on a regular basis I would never, ever sleep.

Phew! I'm so glad that someone else posted this... I don't either. Never really have, except for what Pam said - if they get throw up on or spilled on. I do wash their security blankies (the Angel Dear ones) and some of the machine washable stuffed animals every few weeks though.
So, there you go, another bad mom!
I do wash their blankies and stuffed animals (but just the ones they use most or sleep with). But man, seriously, you people clean toys? It would be an all day venture if I did that. And I'm not just talking now that they're older, even when they were babies...I just don't see how you can do it. I would wash their exersaucer down and their Johnny jumper, but that was it even back then.
I'm a dirty, dirty bird!
I can't tell you how happy I am that everyone was so honest. I was feeling like a bad mom too not cleaning their toys - haha! Honestly, it's enough to keep up with them, working, cleaning the house - I don't know where I'd find the time to clean their toys on a regular basis!

And, even then... unless my kids are filthy, I don't bathe them more than a couple times each week!
wait I'm supposed to clean his friends in his bed too?
oh for crying out loud.
this makes me feel so much better that M isn't the only one with stinky drool animals!
