Camera ladies a question for you

I have a Nikon Coolpix, I love it but i'm having a problem with the quality of the pictures it is taking. Even if what i'm shooting is still it looks like it is in motion and the lighting is always distorted. Am I doing something wrong? I just ordered 200+ pictures and I have a feeling they will all be crappy! See my pic below for an idea of what i'm talking about it is distorted and he was so still for me

Re: Camera ladies a question for you

  • My guess is that you're taking the photos in low light?  Like, indoors with little or no natural light?

If so, they're probably blurry due to camera shake.  The camera has to compensate for the low light by making the shutter stay open longer.  Anything longer than 1/60 of a second and just pressing the shutter button will cause enough shake to blur the image.

If that sounds right, you can fix it by using a tripod, by using the flash (though this causes it's own ickiness), or by using daylight as much as you can.

  • Also, taking another look at your example, are there any smudges on the lens?  Cleaning it with a lens cloth would help if so.
  • Thank you! I do take a lot of photos in doors and use the setting the camera has for that. I just looked at the lens and there is a little finger print on there. look like landen was trying to take some pictures too.
  • No problem!  Hopefully my suggestions can solve the problem.
  • I have that camera and have the same issue from time to time.  We have to play with the settings every now and then - it's like it randomly loses the settings from time to time.
