Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

*new* Hello! Any other "singles"?

Some-time lurker, first-time poster.

I was introduced to "The Nest" by my half-sister (inadvertently) when she sent me a save-the-date with her "Knot" website on it, and I have been stumbling around in the forums ever since (just reading).  I finally joined because it looks like a spiffy little community and I have been impressed by some of the articles and help/advice/comments posted.  9-5 seems to be the most appropriate forum for my introduction, though it's not the only one that applies.

Question: this site-cluster (Knot/Nest/Bump) seems to be geared for engaged/married folks, and I am neither.  I am currently in a relationship, but I have never been engaged/married before, so I was wondering if there are any other "singles" out there - in a relationship or not, but not engaged/married.

Question aside, I just wanted to say hello to everyone and make my presence known!  =)

  • I'm not married, either.  Loooong term relationship, yes, but no marriage.  Some girls here aren't...I've never felt left out because of it.

Lurk on different boards to see what strikes your fancy.  Lots of the boards are more general interest/life discussions than strictly the subject of the board.

9 to 5, however, is pretty job related, without regulars and an ongoing, daily stream of traffic.

    Welcome and enjoy!

  • @ wise_rita:  Thanks!  =)  I don't really worry about feeling left out, per-say, I was just wondering what the demographic of the site is like.  I have been lurking Relationships, S&R, BNOTB and Crafts pretty hard... so far I have just been pretty quiet.  I do have some work-related-ish questions that I might post later... fretting about the career... so much fun.

(PS, I love your sig. picture)

  • Not single but welcoming you!  This board is very work focused and not much talk about relationships.

I find the Knot/Nest/Bump interesting because their demographic is young, newly married couples (I know this because I worked on a special project where I wrote articles that appear on the Nest).

I got married at 35 and now I'm 41.I know there are many ladies on these boards my age. Except for a board on the Bump, there are no age specific boards which I would love here! I was surprised at how many of us there are.

My point is there's probably more singles here than you'd think!

  • Not a single, but wanted to welcome you!
