*chelley599* - Red Sox tickets
So did you end up getting Cubs or Yankees tickets? We also "won" the opportunity to give them more money, but by the time I remembered, the only things left were the $170 field/box/whatever seats. No thanks. I'd rather spend the money on Green Monster tickets - at least if you get hit in the head up there, it's a home run. Heh.
Hope you got lucky!

.:butting in:. agh! That totally sucks! Were you able to get tix for any games?
We got 6-pack tickets for Cubs already and now single-game tix go on sale on Friday. Fingers crossed we can get some decent games!

That's too bad! I know you were really hoping for them.
And yeah, the virtual waiting room sucks. The new feature where it tells you how far back in line you are is just depressing. We tried for tickets during the general sale, and my little guy barely moved. (We ended up getting some the next day = remnants from declined credit cards, I assume, heh.)
We had good luck with the phone lines before, though. Maybe try that next time.
How far are you from Boston?
DH & I went to a couple Cubs week day games last year and bought the tix the day of the game on stubhub. We paid underface value for all of them. Granted they were upper deck, but we paid $10 or less for each ticket. And we were able to move to front row when we got there. Definitely worth it if you're not too far!

Try the "no scalping" zone over by gate B (I think it's B- the one with the Ted WIlliams statue*) - they're all face value tickets. The other thing is to try the will call window right at 4 pm on a night game - pick a random Tuesday against like Baltimore or something. Alan's friends went there one day, and they got offered seats in the owners box! (Being poor college students, however, they couldn't afford them. Though they did seriously consider it for a second.)
It's a shame that it's a zillion times easier (and cheaper) to get tickets for a road game than it is for a home game. We might head down to Baltimore one weekend this summer.
* one of my programs took a trolley tour of Boston one summer, and this guy turned to me and said, "Oh, is that Babe Ruth?" I said, "do you reaaaaallly think there'd be a statue of Babe Ruth in this city?" heh.

Yeah, Alan wanted me to get Cubs tickets, and then sell them. *headdesk*
