What is your biggest fear?

What are you most afraid of?

What is something you fear that most think is ridiculous?

Re: What is your biggest fear?

  • I'll go first....most of my real fears are ridiculous

Scared to death of clowns...not sure how I will take my kids to the circus

Also afraid of seagulls and I have an unexplainable fear of jello

I saw a story once when I was little about a snake that was found in a shower after slithering up the drain pipe.  Now, even to this day, I still check the shower

  • it's okay! I ALWAYS check the shower before I get in, and Then let the water run in the tub for about a good 10 min's before I'll even step-foot in to the shower just be on the safe side if anything was trying to climb up the drain!  the Storm drains, along the side of the road scare me a lot too, got any good stories about them??

  • Most of my fears are pretty normal. I'm really really afraid of car accidents. I think it's just because they're so common. They happen everywhere, every day, and no one can really predict them. It's not like you have time to prepare yourself, like, "Oh, I'm going to get T-boned in five minutes." Nope. It just happens. That scares me. I've been in two pretty minor ones & I wasn't driving in either of them (knocking on wood now!) and it's scary.

The thing I'm scared of that makes no sense is chalk. Sidewalk chalk, blackboard chalk, that chalk that gymnasts clap on their hands at the summer Olympics... it just makes me so anxious. It's the sound it makes against a chalkboard, the way it feels on my fingers... just no. I had to walk out of classrooms in college a couple times when a professor would write on the board, make a mistake, and erase it with their fingers. It just makes my skin crawl.

  • My deepest true fear is losing the ones I love.

Ridiculous fear: I'm a bit afraid of the dark and I have an irrational fear of evil clowns coming up out of drains. I watched IT too young and got a bit confused. I thought the clown came out of the drain and killed the guy in the bathtub and only later realized it was a suicide.

  • I hate mirrors in the bathroom at night. I played Bloody Mary way too much as a kid.

But biggest fear is losing the ones I love. Pretty typical but since I had L its always in the back of my mind.

I made my former roommate watch that with me once, and it freaked her the eff out.  She worked in downtown Hartford, where there are sewer grates on every corner.  When she finally made it to her office the day after we watched it (after taking 20 minutes to get there - it was a 5 minute walk from the parking garage), she called and b*tched me out.  I thought I was going to have to drive her to her car when it was time to go home, hee!

Oh! and I sent her emails all day long that said, "can't sleep...clown'll eat me..."  Which I had repeated over and over on the couch the night before, while rocking.  I'm the devil.

  • My biggest fear is of hubby dying. I don't know what I'll do. I feel selfish, but I really hope I go first.

Irrational fears? I've been watching horror movies since I was a toddler probably and they are still my favorite. I tend to get a little scared at night time when I'm alone and have been watching horror movie marathons. DH usually works late.

Sometimes if I have to go outside the house at night- maybe take the garbage out- I get the heeby jeebies and have to run back inside the house. I don't know what I think will get me- werewolf? freaky guy?

I'm also a little afraid of the toilet at night. I try to hurry because I think a baby gator or snake is going to come up out of it and bite my booty. lol

  • Losing loved ones, especially my parents, Zach, or Grandma. Not a huge fan of being out alone at night, either.

Swallowing pills. I choked on a tylenol once as a kid - didn't have enough to drink with it, and it stuck to the inside of my throat part way down. I coughed and coughed, but couldn't cough it up, and thought sure I'd suffocate, but it finally went down. I can only get pills down now if I take them with apple sauce. I even ask the doctor how big the pill in a prescription will be, and if it's bigger than a small capsule, I make him get me either a smaller pill or liquid.

  • Biggest fear is getting stuck under water, like falling into icy water and getting stuck.  Ugh.  Yuck.

  • I am scared to death of birds, and really creeped out by anything with wings, even butterflies.

  • I have a fear of driving over bridges.  They could be the smallest bridges and I am still scared of driving over them.  I am afraid of falling off or them collapsing when I am on them.  I have driven over some really big and scary ones (at least to me) such as the one going into Chicago and driving to Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Yeah...not a fan.
