I need ideas for wall decor in my dining room. Right now there are
some jazz theme pictures up, which I'm not a fan of. The doors to the
left go to our pantry. And there is another small wall (4 feet) that is
directly to your right (you can see the corner at the bottom of the
picture. DH has already vetoed oversized silverware, which I thought
would fit the size walls we have well. I was thinking of hanging
plates/platters on the wall but am not completely sold on this. Also, if you have any ideas of how to bring in more color, that would be great!
We have this chandelier now.

The dining "room" opens up to the living "room" and kitchen- although they are all one big room. So whatever goes up the walls needs to coordinate somewhat.
The dining room is to the immediate right. Those are the doors to the pantry.
Re: RP: Dining Room Wall Decor (PsIP)
Have you tried Kohls? They have some different pieces that are online only, but they are metal with touch of color.
DH and I recently bought two different things with the intention of putting one in our kitchen and returning one to the store. We ended up keeping them both because we liked them so much.
Something like this:

Well, EA, it was pretty hard to get past the Christmas decor. I mean, it TOTALLY overwhelms the rooms....
(Just kidding, in truthfulness, your home is very pretty!)
Since the rest of your home is pretty serene, maybe something light blue in the dining room? Maybe change out the curtains and maybe do a chair pad or something? As for wall decor, you could always try some wall art--even if you make it yourself. Do they have long, thin canvas that you could draw something on? Or maybe just buys a blue printed fabric to stretch over the canvas? Or what about some interesting mirrors? That might actually coordinate better with the rest of your spaces, now that I think about it more. I know that I've seen some long thin mirrors that were not just standard rectangles in a catalog, maybe like Ballard? I bet you could find something similar locally.
The love affair started when I saw it in West Elm. But it was pricey and I just couldn't justify spending that much money. Then DH found one on Ebay that we got a great deal on. But the seller dropped it before getting it to the box and that one was no longer. So then we found it at a small independent boutique in NYC. They agree to ship it to NC, but it arrived broken. So they shipped another one, which was broken as well. Rinse repeat one more time for good measure. And then we finally got our chandelier that only had 2 small breaks, so we kept it! Moral of the story is that if you are going to get one, pick it up yourself!
