How much do your boys weigh? I am worried about Preston. He is small, but was small when he was born. We go for his 6 month check up next week, and I am going to ask our doctor what he thinks. When Preston had RSV last week and we took him the on call doctor made a comment about him not gaining any weight since his four month check up. Which of course makes me worry more than I already was.

Re: katsblaze

  • One of mine was small as well when born. He was only 4.15lbs.  At his 6 month check up he was 15.5lbs.  That is only the 13% for weight. His head size is not even on the chart yet, but he is making progress.  He is gaining which is important.

Zach on the other hand was 6.2lbs when born and at his 6 month he was 19.9lbs. 86% for weight. His head is still a little small and just making it on the charts.

I have come to the realization that Christian will always just be a tiny baby. I was worried at first, but now not so much.

How much does Preston weigh?  I know as long as he gains weight there shouldn't be a concern, but if he isn't gaining that may concern them. Has he started any solids yet?

  • Preston was 5.1lbs when he was born. When he went for his 4month checkup he was 12lbs 9ozs and our doctor said that was great. Then when we went back last week was 12lbs 7ozs. So in a month he lost 2ozs. He is 22 inches long. Which from what i read is about avearage, he was only 19 inches when he was born.

He has started solids and eats so much. I don't know where it all goes. I even thought once we started solids his milk intake would go down, but he still drinks the same amount of milk.

I know I am probably worrying about nothing. I am so anxious to see the doctor March 3rd.

  • It's only natural to worry.  I would be too.  Christian hasn't had any weight loss (only a little before we left the hospital).  Hopefully the doctor can set your mind at ease at the appointment next week.  I am trying to remember but I think Christian was around 13lbs at his 4 month.

I will be thinking of you and Preston.  Let me know how it goes.
