T&P Please for Mom's dog...
I don't usually do this but I don't know what else to do. 2 weeks ago my mom's dog was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The survival rate really isn't that good, although there are a couple different treatment options we have to consider. Today he goes in to get an Xray on his lungs, if the cancer has spread there then my mom and stepdad will likely not treat him, just do what they can to keep him comfortable. He's already had an ultra sound on his lower abdomen all all vital organs there are clear. If his lungs are clear too then they will do surgery to remove the cancer from his prostate and probably do a few rounds of chemo/radiation. It's been really hard on us as Oslo is only going to be 7 this Spring and prostate cancer is typically found in unaltered dogs...he was neutered before he turned 2. They rescued him about 4 years ago when his family moved and left him behind. It just doesn't seem fair to him, he really hasn't had it easy. I know, life's not fair.
Anyway, if you have any thoughts/prayers to spare, please think of Oslo. He needs all the help he can get right now.
