QOTD

What is one food you would never eat, no matter how much money someone offered you?

This QOTD stems from the conversation I had with DH yesterday where he told me he would rather eat shiit than mayo.

Re: QOTD

  • The only thing I refuse to eat is heads. If I'm required to eat the head of an animal (bones, eyes and all), it ain't happening.
  • There is a few but one that really stands out is Pigs Feet.  Seriously? Who would eat that..gag!

I'll co-sign this one.  I'm pretty willing to eat most things, but if it's in a head, no thank you.

I could be paid to eat the different parts of a head, maybe.

  • I can't think of anything right now.  There are foods I don't think I'd like to eat, but given enough money ...

  • any seafood, especially shellfish. I'm deathly allergic :(

    anything else is fair game!

  • I've been a vegetarian for sixteen years, so I really would not ever eat any meat or fish.  But I mean...if I was offered a million dollars to eat a burger...maybe.
  • Mayo also. I have a bad history with it and I hate the taste. My co-worker asks for extra mayo on everything. I gag when she dips her fries in it.

  • I pretty sure for a sufficient quantity of money, I could be talked into eating almost anything.

Me too. There are plenty of foods that I don't care for, but for a certain price tag I'm pretty sure that I could choke about anything down.

  • All I can think of is that episode of Fear Factor where they had to eat bull testicles.

    I draw the line there.

  • I'd attempt to eat anything, but keeping it down is another question (e.g., bull balls).

  • Brain.  E tried goat brain when we were in Greece - mostly for the purpose of not offending our friend's father who had bought it and offered him a taste.  The look on his face and his description afterwards was enough to almost make me sick.  He said it was the consistency of peanut butter.

I'm okay with most other things though - I've eaten things like tarantula, jellyfish and pig intestine so I like to think I'm pretty adventurous!

    Now jumping domestically.

Well that was a crazy couple of years.

  • I generally try anything once, but I have a gag reflex from he!!. I would more than likely throw up anything with a funny texture.

    This is me too.

I have eaten plenty of weird things including bull testicles (Rocky Mountain Oysters). I'd never want to eat them raw but breaded and fried, they actually aren't too bad. Embarrassed

  • Lettuce. I know I'm so weird because people say it doesn't have much of a taste, but to me it has a very distinct taste and smell that makes me literally gag. Obviously if you don't like leafy green things like lettuce you can't eat salads. This would be why I failed miserably at trying to be a vegetarian :(

    Ditto.

as well as ditto to the Rocky Mountain Oysters (Calf Fries in Texas)... I mean, I wouldn't order them off a menu or anything, but I have tried them just to say I had. :)

  • If someone offered me enough money, as in millions and all I had to do was try something or take a bite, I could probably try anything. Like snoopy said, I have a bad gag reflex and I would throw it right back up.

  • Cow tongue and celery, oh and black licorice. *barf* No way am I ever eating any of that ever again. My grandfather used to make us eat it when we were kids and I will never go near it again. Oh and sardine sandwiches.

  • There probably isn't anything that I would flat out refuse to eat...as long as it was prepared well.  I don't know that I would eat something disgusting just for money though (like Fear Factor type deal...).  However, if it were well prepared as a specialty, I would probably at least try a bite.

Oh, except scallops...I'm allergic.  I love them...but they make me sick...sad.

  • Okra.  The slime is too much for me.  I know, some people love okra but I just can't bear it.
