Know Your Niner

Some of us might remember from back in the day a little diddy called Bride of the Day (BOTD).  To be honest, it was fun, even with all the dramz that came with it (what, Blaire wants to nominate Daisey as the next BOTD even though she's no longer a Niner??  what, an Associate's degree isn't a real degree?!).  For those of you who may want to familiarize yourself with the awesome, here you go:

 Bride of the Day

Anyway, after looking through this for a while, I thought it would be cool to tweak it and throw these questions back out there, and for those of us who filled out a BOTD way back when, it'll make for an amusing comparison.  Plus, it'll give us something to do today!

So here goes... enjoy!

Why? ~ My dad dying has completely changed my life. It's been a long, weird road to get used to the fact that he's not going to be there when I get home and that I'm the only one who's not in RI with my mom. There's a lot of guilt.

What time do you get up? ~ 6:30

Do you already have children? ~ Nope

List anything you dislike ~ People with bad table manners, asparagus, fennel & anise & almond flavoring, Greenday, snow..

How have you been celebrating the holidays now that you're married? ~ When we first got engaged we did both Thanksgivings. We were in the car longer than we were anywhere. So now we're switching off years. Then we do Hannukah with his family and Christmas with my family.

    Who's your favorite in-law? ~ Both of my SIL's

What about your least favorite? ~ BIL..he's creepy.

Do you still participate in them? ~ Nope, I have busted shoulders.

Where did you and your husband go on your first date? ~ We tried to go to Harpoonfest in Boston, but it was way too packed so we grabbed drinks and dinner with his friends and then went to Jose MacIntyres, got really drunk and danced. It was a really fun time.

What book are you currently reading? Do you like it? ~ I just finished The Help last night and it was wonderful. Before that I read Comfort Me With Apples and it was also pretty great!

You didn't say anything to your mom about us getting married, did you?" I figured my mom was saying nasty things to him and I said, "Not being serious, but I did mention that in jest. It's not like I ever said, hey mom, we need to talk about Danny& I getting married." Then he whips out this ring and says, "Well, you'll have to do that now." What's your favorite season? Summer and Fall, I can't choose because I love them both for different reasons.

Without being wedding related, what is the most significant thing that has ever happened to you in your life?  Did it have a positive or a negative effect?  Why?  Becoming a parent was pretty huge and it has definitely been a positive thing but also has a lot of challenges.  I also think losing my relationship with my dad when I was a teenager, it was really negative how it happened but I am better off now.

What time do you get up?  Depends, usually Parker is up for the day around 6:30am but he also wakes up still during the night.

Do you already have children?  Ages & names.  Parker, 7 months.

Did you change your last name?  yes

What do you listen to at work?  When I play music we listen to kid's songs and Parker also likes the music from Glee. ;)

What do you do that you consider good for the environment?  We do our best to conserve energy, we use our fireplace and wood stove to help heat our home, we use reusable water bottles, etc.

What was the reaction of your family and friends when you announced your engagement?  They were very excited and they all knew he was proposing that night so it was fun to call right after and share our excitement with everyone at like midnight.

What do you think is the hardest thing about being married?  Communication.  I also think balancing all our responsibilities now that we are parents is something that we are continuing to have to work on and improve.

What were you most looking forward to about being married?  Starting a family.

List any favorites you have (color, food, drink etc).   color = blue, drink = water, lattes and bud light, food = cheese!!!

List anything you dislike.  cheesecake, fruit jelly filled things like donuts and danishes, yuck!!

How have you been celebrating the holidays now that you're married?  We have had everyone over to our house for most of the holidays and that has worked really well.

Who's your favorite in-law?  I don't have a favorite, they are all pretty great.

What about your least favorite?  It depends, there are some that are harder to deal with than the others but that is all I am going to say...

What's your biggest pet peeve?  Slow drivers on the interstate.  People that slow down too much to turn, drives me batty!!

What sports/activities did you do when you were younger? swim team, field hockey and track.

Do you still participate in them?  Not but I still love to swim.

Where did you and your husband go on your first date?  At a restaurant on the waterfront.

What book are you currently reading?  Do you like it?  I just re-read Little Earthquakes(finished last night).  I love that book.
