My 'mildew resistant' shower liner has mildew on it!!! I threw our last one out because it's so nasty and the reason I bought this one was because it claimed to be mildew resistant! So frustrating!

Re: Seriously?!?
Yep, if its plastic, throw it out.
Get a 100% nylon or polyester. Many hotels do not use plastic because of the mold. The fabric dries so fast it doesn't grow mold. If it needs it, throw it in the washer and hang it back on the shower rod to dry.
I would have thought the washer would rip it up. I'll give it a try! Stupid shower liner...
Do you think a decorative fabric curtain would be better than a plastic one? Maybe it would let the liner 'breathe' more?
it's machine washable (don't throw it in the dryer). I throw it in with some bleach and an old terry cloth wash cloth for some friction.
And when it's time to retire it, I just save it to use as a drop cloth or tarp.
Throw it in the washing machine with cold water, a scoop of baking soda, your regular detergent, and 2-3 towels. Put vinegar in the softener dispenser.
When the washer's done, hang it back up mildew free.
To the OP: they also sell "hotel collection" type liners that are made out of a heavy woven material and claim to be mildew resistant as well. One more thing, I never experienced any breakdown in the liner material. Maybe because I dont let it go thru the spin cycle. I mean, if you think about it, the spin cycle is supossed to wring excess water out of fabric, and since this not applicable for a plastic liner, there's no sense in having it go thru the roughest part of the wash.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to throw it in this weekend and see what happens!
My mom said they sell them at the dollar store so maybe I'll get one as a back-up
