Abby's 15 month and job update

In case you want to know (because why wouldn't want to know everything about my kid??) the update on Abby.

Weight: 18.6 pounds (2%) hahahaha
Length: 30.6" (50%) yayay!
Head circumference: 45 cm (66%)  Big brain!

I gave here  1/2 of a percent to get her up to the 2%, too.  Tiny, tiny, tiny! No worries though, her height means she's growing.

As for the job front - I'm still waiting to hear from IDEXX on the training position, I got another "no thank you" letter from AAA (why the hell would you call me back after 7 months, chat for 15 minutes, to just say no? WTF?!!!), and have an offer to do sales for a call center in Scarborough.  I'm fairly certain I can start anytime, although officially it's 3/14.  It's majorly steps backwards for me career wise, but my HR friend made a good point that it's sometimes easier to get a job when you have a job.  The position is 2-9pm Sun - Thurs so less day care expenses, and hopefully room to grow or a paycheck for a few weeks until something better comes along.  I may say no and hold out for the idexx opening.  It sounds like they really want to get me in.  decisions, decisions...

Why doesn't anyone tell us that we have to make these kinds of decisions when we're a kid???

Re: Abby's 15 month and job update

  • glad that you were able to find something, even if it is not perfect.

I don't know what the Abby stats mean exactly so I shall not comment :)

  • The boys were right around the same size as Abby at their 15 month and shot up into the "average" range at their 18 month... not because they gained a ton of weight, but because all the other little porker, chubby babies really started moving around and trimmed down so "average" is only a few pounds more than "way underweight" was a few months before.

  • Your right.....being a grown up is not fun sometimes, but your friend is right, hopefully having a job will hep you get another. Still crossing my fingers about IDEXX for you!

  • Haha, I was that peanut.  I was off the weight percentile charts until 5th or 6th grade.

Congrats on a job offer - it's good to know you have an option but I'll keep my fingers crossed for IDEXX - that job sounds like a much better fit!

  • what a little patootie!!

  • One of my boys is only in the 13% for weight.  At the 6 month appt one of the boys was 15.5 lbs (13%) and the other was 19.9 lbs (86%).  So I have a peanut and a chubba.  Their head sizes are still small though.  Only one is on the charts and the other is "almost" on the charts.

Good luck if you decide to take the job until something better comes along. However I am also still hoping you get into Idexx. =)

  • She's such a little cutie, glad to hear she's growing!

Those job situations can always be tricky, and it's tough to pick what is best for you- I was in a similar situation when we first moved to Newport. Hopefully you're right and if you do that the less than desireable job, something better will come along or the IDEXX folks will call you soon and it will be a non-issue. Good luck!

  • Everytime people tell me Caroline is tiny I think of Abby, and know she's healthy and the same size as DD is now! Such a little cute peanut she is :)

Goodluck with the job front, those decisions are never easy!
