anyone make a skirt before?
I am going to make R's outfit for her birthday. It is a Hello Kitty Theme and I want a shirt with the number 2 on it made out of the fabric..figured that is easy to make. Then with the extra fabric I figure I can make a skirt. Hopefully it is easy....

Shirts are way harder than skirts! Especially if you make it with elastic in the waist, or a drawstring. Shouldn't take long at all.
Ahh, ok. Here's a blog with instructions on how to make one with an elastic waist and a cute ribbon at the hem, if you're looking for instructions. It's really easy to follow and doesn't even require a pattern.

If you have a sewing machine and can sew a straight line, you can make a twirl skirt.
Applying the number to the shirt (or appliqueing) might actaully be harder depending on how you do it. Here is a tutorial a friend wrote:
