Gov't Shutdown
Anyone else going to be hit by this?
DH is a non-essential federal employee, so we may not have his paycheck starting 3/4. Nice, considering it is one day prior to my DD-guess it could be a good way to start labor. We are also starting our kitchen renovation the end of the month so this can really mess things up.
Ebonie-I'm assuming you guys will be hit by this too, but Joe will still be reporting to work, but not getting paid-right?
Ugh-I'm so annoyed that Senators and the President still get THEIR paychecks, but we won't be seeing a dime and they are the ones that can't get their butts in gear!
Re: Gov't Shutdown
Yup-if the republicans & democrats don't agree on a budget, Obama said he is definitely shutting down. They have already been given extensions and it isn't looking good. I'm so annoyed that they continue to receive paychecks.
What annoys me most is the fact that military men & women will continue to serve and not receive pay (from what I'm understanding). They will be given back pay eventually, but seriously, someone is risking their life for our country and their family back at home isn't receiving any kind of $$.
We live in a really messed up world.
Joe's considered a mission-essential federal employee, so from what I understand, he'll be OK [since he's security forces]. My dad, however, may not be - he's a civilian contractor who's overseas, so I'm not sure what will happen with him. Awesome. Not.
That really, really sucks though. Seriously? This whole government thing is a hot mess right now.

I feel like government at every level is playing this ridiculous game of chicken... just waiting to see who will back down first. It's happening in our state with the budget and a lot of people are suffering in the short term because the elected idiots can't get their acts together!
